Summary

This 2025 Kia Seltos EX represents a sophisticated choice for the urban GCC driver, offering a perfect balance of modern tech and remarkable fuel efficiency. As an EX trim, it steps up from the base models with premium dual 10.25-inch panoramic screens and a power sunroof that enhances the cabin's airy feel. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the region, known for its superior heat rejection and strong resale demand in the local market. While it faces stiff competition, the Seltos stands out with its refined interior and a drivetrain built for reliable daily commuting across the Emirates. For those seeking a brand-new crossover that prioritizes low running costs without sacrificing the latest digital features, this Chinese-spec Seltos is a compelling opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2025 Seltoss

With zero mileage, this 2025 model offers the full longevity of a brand-new vehicle, a significant advantage in the GCC where average annual use often reaches 25,000 km. The white paintwork is the most popular choice for the region's climate and ensures this vehicle will remain highly liquid in the used market for years to come.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience by introducing dual 10.25-inch high-definition displays that create a seamless digital cockpit. Unlike lower trims, you also benefit from a power sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, and upgraded seating materials that are better suited for the long highway stints common in GCC driving.

Seltos vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Hyundai Kona or Honda HR-V, the Seltos leads with its more traditional SUV silhouette that provides superior rear headroom and a more versatile cargo area. Its infotainment interface is widely regarded as more intuitive, while the 1.5L powertrain is specifically optimized for efficiency in heavy stop-start city traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world efficiency is a major strength, with the WLTC combined rating of 6.05 L/100km translating to significant savings at the pump during daily Dubai or Riyadh commutes. Kia maintains one of the most robust service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with standard service intervals typically every 10,000 km. The Seltos historically enjoys strong value retention in the GCC, depreciating slower than many European compact crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The 115 hp Smartstream engine is paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) designed for smooth, linear power delivery that eliminates the shift-shock of traditional automatics. A top speed of 172 km/h ensures it is more than capable of handling high-speed cruise conditions on the E11 or E311 highways. While front-wheel drive, the 190 mm ground clearance provides peace of mind when navigating speed humps or unpaved parking areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a standout in the compact segment, featuring dedicated rear AC vents that are essential for maintaining passenger comfort during the intense GCC summer. The 5-seat layout offers generous legroom for a vehicle of this footprint, complemented by high-quality SynTex-trimmed surfaces. Superior sound insulation helps keep the interior quiet during high-speed desert highway drives.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for the EX trim, including a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines and rear parking sensors to make tight city parking effortless. Standard features include electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a robust airbag system. These active systems are particularly valuable for maintaining traction on sandy road shoulders or during sudden changes in highway traffic speed.

The bottom line

For the value-conscious buyer who refuses to compromise on 2025-standard technology, this Seltos EX is the ideal urban companion with a high-spec cabin and industry-leading efficiency.
