Summary

This 2025 Kia Sonet EX represents a compelling opportunity for city-based buyers, offering exceptionally low mileage for the GCC market and the balance of a factory warranty. As the mid-high trim, the EX strikes a perfect balance between technology and value, featuring the updated 'Star Map' LED lighting signature that defines the newest generation. The Grey exterior is one of the most resilient colors for the UAE climate, maintaining a clean look against desert dust and enjoying strong resale demand. For the urban commuter in Dubai or Riyadh, this crossover delivers high-riding visibility with the fuel costs of a sub-compact sedan. Kia’s vast service footprint across the emirates ensures long-term ownership is both predictable and affordable.

This Car vs Other 2025 Kia Sonets

With just 20,000 km on the odometer, this Sonet is significantly below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, essentially presenting a like-new mechanical profile. While many 2025 models entering the used market have been heavily utilized for rentals or high-mileage commuting, this private-use example retains its tight suspension feel and interior freshness. The Grey finish is a high-demand choice in the region, offering a significant resale advantage over brighter or less traditional colors.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim provides a substantial technology bridge over the base LX, most notably adding the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In the GCC climate, the addition of rear AC vents and the remote engine start feature—allowing you to cool the cabin before entry—are essential upgrades rather than luxuries. You also benefit from upgraded 16-inch alloy wheels and the proximity smart key, which replaces the manual entry systems found on entry-level variants.

Sonet vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Toyota Raize and Nissan Magnite, the Sonet leads with a more premium interior build quality and superior ground clearance of 205 mm for tackling high speed bumps and gravel transitions. Its 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine offers smoother power delivery than the three-cylinder units found in some competitors, making it better suited for the high-speed highway traffic typical of the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Furthermore, Kia's infotainment interface is widely regarded as the most intuitive and responsive in the sub-compact crossover segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The Sonet is one of the most efficient crossovers in the region, achieving a manufacturer-official 5.7 L/100km, which translates to significant savings during long-distance drives between emirates. Maintenance is straightforward with a massive authorized service network covering the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, typically following 10,000 km service intervals. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a higher percentage of its value compared to non-regional imports, typically depreciating at a stable 10-12% annually.

Performance & Capability

The 115 hp Smartstream engine is optimized for efficiency and smooth urban cruising, paired with a refined automatic transmission that excels in stop-start traffic. While designed as a front-wheel-drive city SUV, its 205 mm ground clearance provides peace of mind when navigating unpaved parking lots or heavy rain flooding. The 45-litre fuel tank offers a calculated highway range of over 750 km, making it a reliable companion for cross-country road trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to maximize space within a compact footprint, featuring a high seating position that provides excellent all-around visibility for navigating tight urban spaces. Crucially for the GCC summer, the air conditioning system is class-leading in its cooling speed, supported by dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers comfortable. Acoustic insulation has been improved for the 2025 model year, noticeably reducing wind noise during highway cruising.

Safety

Safety is managed by a robust suite of active systems, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill-Start Assist, which are particularly useful when exiting steep underground parking ramps. This trim includes a high-definition rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines and rear parking sensors as standard to ensure easy maneuvering. The GCC-spec Sonet also features a reinforced body structure and multiple airbags, providing a secure environment for family duties.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a modern, warranty-backed crossover that won't break the bank at the fuel pump, this low-mileage 2025 Sonet EX is a standout choice in the current market.
