Summary

This 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC represents a highly strategic acquisition for a UAE buyer, offering a significant saving over a new showroom model while maintaining its latest-generation appeal. With 31,000 km, the mileage is slightly higher than the average for a first-year car but aligns well with frequent inter-emirate highway commutes common in the region. The grey exterior is a neutral, executive choice that typically holds strong resale value in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi markets. As the refined six-cylinder alternative to the entry-level GLE 350, it provides the effortless power needed for high-speed highway cruising and heavy family loads. Choosing a GCC-spec model ensures full compatibility with local authorized service networks and optimized cooling systems for the extreme summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2025 GLE450s

At 31,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC annual average, likely reflecting frequent highway travel between cities. While the mileage is higher than a 'garage queen,' it suggests the car is mechanically settled and has likely been maintained on a strict schedule. The grey finish is one of the most resilient colors for the local climate, hiding fine desert dust better than black while maintaining a premium aesthetic for resale.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

The GLE 450 4MATIC is a significant step up from the GLE 350, replacing the four-cylinder engine with a much smoother 3.0-litre inline-six featuring mild-hybrid assistance. This trim adds essential luxury for the GCC, including a standard 360° camera for easier parking in tight city malls and upgraded MBUX infotainment. The increased torque makes a noticeable difference during highway overtaking when the car is fully loaded with passengers and climate control is at maximum.

GLE450 vs Segment Rivals

The GLE 450 often leads the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 in cabin refinement and cargo flexibility, offering 630 litres of boot space even with five passengers. Its 85-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for long-distance trips from Riyadh to Dubai compared to many rivals with smaller tanks. Additionally, the Mercedes MBUX system is widely considered the most intuitive for managing multi-zone cooling, a vital feature during peak GCC summer months.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 12.5 L/100km in city traffic and 9.6 L/100km on open highways. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with Service A and Service B alternating every 15,000 km. The GLE 450 maintains competitive value retention, typically depreciating at 12–15% annually in the GCC, outperforming several European peers due to the strong brand prestige in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 381 hp inline-six engine propels the SUV from 0–100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, providing athletic performance for a vehicle of this size. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system ensures stable handling during rare rain-slicked road conditions or light gravel tracks during weekend escapes. With a 9-speed automatic transmission, the powertrain remains exceptionally quiet and efficient at the UAE's 140 km/h highway limits.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for five adults, featuring high-grade materials and a standard panoramic sunroof that enhances the sense of space. Dedicated rear climate vents and powerful air conditioning ensure passenger comfort even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. Extensive acoustic insulation keeps the cabin whisper-quiet, shielding occupants from road noise during long-distance drives across the desert.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and a 360° camera system for total situational awareness. The adaptive cruise control is particularly effective on long GCC highway stretches, reducing driver fatigue. A full array of airbags and reinforced structural pillars provide top-tier protection, consistent with the model's high international safety ratings.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec GLE 450 is the perfect balance of prestige and performance for an executive family, offering a modern, high-tech interior without the immediate depreciation of a brand-new car.
