Summary

This MG 3 Standard represents the latest generation of the model, offering a significant tech leap for the compact segment in the GCC. With its fuel-efficient 1.5-litre engine and modest mileage for a newer model year, it serves as a highly practical daily commuter for city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. The silver exterior is a top-tier choice for the region, known for its excellent heat reflection and strong resale demand. Compared to its predecessor, this generation introduces a much more refined digital experience and sharper styling that holds its own against more expensive rivals. For a buyer in the Emirates or across the GCC, this is a smart entry-point into modern ownership with low running costs and easy parts availability.

This Car vs Other 2025 MG 3s

At roughly 35,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is slightly above the typical annual average for a city hatch but remains well within the expected range for GCC highway-heavy commuting. The silver finish is widely considered one of the best resale colors in the local market due to its ability to hide dust and handle intense summer temperatures. Choosing a 2025 model ensures you are getting the updated third-generation platform with a better digital cockpit than older versions.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim provides an impressive baseline for the GCC market, including the 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch digital driver display that many rivals only offer on higher trims. It also retains essential features like the rearview camera and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, which are high-priority search items for local buyers. While it lacks the 360-degree camera of the Luxury trim, it maintains the same efficient 1.5-litre powertrain, ensuring identical mechanical reliability.

MG 3 vs Segment Rivals

The MG 3 competes directly with the Toyota Yaris and Kia Rio, leading with a more contemporary interior technology suite at a more accessible price point. Its boot capacity of 293 litres is highly competitive in the B-segment, providing more usable depth than many sub-compact alternatives. The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine is specifically tuned for reliable performance in high-heat urban environments common across the Middle East.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is a standout feature, with official figures of 6.1 L/100km making it one of the most economical non-hybrid options for the daily commute between Emirates. Service intervals for petrol MG models in the GCC are typically set at 10,000 km or 6 months, and the brand's authorized network is now well-established across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Historically, MG has shown improved value retention in the GCC as the brand's local parts supply and service support have expanded.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre engine produces a reliable 109 hp, providing adequate power for city merging and maintaining steady speeds on the fast-moving E11 highway. While it is built for efficiency rather than speed, it achieves 0-100 km/h in approximately 10.8 seconds, which is standard for its class. The automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness in stop-start traffic, ensuring a comfortable drive during peak hour congestion.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is dominated by high-resolution screens and a clean, modern dashboard layout that feels premium for the price point. The air conditioning system is built to MG's GCC standards, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool during summer. Fabric seats provide a practical and cooler alternative to leather in the local climate, while the 2,570 mm wheelbase offers surprising legroom for a compact hatchback.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes front and side airbags, electronic stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system which is essential for safe desert highway driving. The inclusion of a rearview camera and rear parking sensors as standard equipment provides extra confidence in tight urban parking spaces. Advanced braking systems like ABS and EBD work together to maintain stability on the sandy or dusty road surfaces often encountered across the region.

The bottom line

This 2025 MG 3 is the ideal choice for a budget-conscious professional or student looking for a modern, tech-forward daily driver that stays exceptionally cheap to run in the GCC.
