Summary

This 2025 MG GT Luxury is a sharp fastback sedan that delivers surprising performance for its class, thanks to its 173 hp turbocharged engine. As a one-year-old vehicle, it offers a modern tech suite including a 360-degree camera and a fully digital cockpit at a much more accessible entry point than its Japanese or Korean rivals. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the GCC, hiding dust well while maintaining a strong resale profile in the local used market. For a buyer looking for a stylish commuter that balances low running costs with a premium feel, this top-trim GT stands out. It remains under the extensive MG 6-year regional warranty, providing essential peace of mind for the next owner.

This Car vs Other 2025 GTs

With 62,000 km on the odometer, this GT has been driven more than the typical 25,000 km annual GCC average, reflecting consistent highway use. Despite the higher mileage for its age, it benefits from being the latest 2025 model year, ensuring it carries the most up-to-date software and interior refinements. The Grey metallic finish is one of the most popular colors in the region, ensuring it remains easier to sell when the time comes.

LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Luxury trim is a significant step up from the STD and COM variants, most notably adding the full ADAS safety suite and a 360-degree high-definition camera system. Inside, you get the 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat and the full 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which are not available on lower trims. It also features a larger sunroof and premium PVC leather upholstery designed to withstand the intense GCC summer heat better than fabric alternatives.

GT vs Segment Rivals

The MG GT competes directly with the Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra but leads the segment in terms of standard technology and engine torque for the price. While rivals often offer naturally aspirated engines in this bracket, the GT's 1.5L turbo provides much more decisive highway overtaking power. Its fastback silhouette also offers a more modern, European-inspired design language compared to the more conservative styling of its Japanese competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a strong suit, with a manufacturer-rated 5.9 L/100km that makes it an economical choice for long-distance Dubai-Abu Dhabi commutes. MG has one of the fastest-growing service networks in the GCC, with authorized centers widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While European-designed Chinese brands typically see higher initial depreciation than Toyotas, the GT holds its value well among budget-conscious buyers looking for high-spec features under AED 50,000. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, keeping maintenance predictable and affordable.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 173 hp and 250 Nm of torque, which is enough to propel the sedan from 0–100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds. This performance is managed by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that provides quick, smooth shifts ideal for both stop-start city traffic and high-speed highway cruising. The chassis is tuned for a balance of comfort and stability, ensuring the car feels planted even during the windy conditions often encountered on open desert roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The 'Fighter-Jet' inspired cockpit is designed around the driver, featuring a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system includes high-quality filtration and dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool during peak summer. The cabin insulation is surprisingly good for this segment, providing a quiet environment that filters out most road and wind noise during long highway trips.

Safety

This Luxury trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety package, including front, side, and curtain airbags. Key driver assistance features include Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and a 360-degree camera system that makes parking in tight urban spaces effortless. Electronic Stability Control and Hill Start Assist are also standard, providing extra security on the varied road surfaces found across the GCC.

The bottom line

This 2025 MG GT Luxury is the perfect opportunity for a professional or small family to own a top-spec, current-model-year sedan with high-end tech for a fraction of the new car price.
