Summary

The 2025 RAM 1500 RHO enters the GCC market as the new performance benchmark, replacing the legendary TRX with a lighter and more agile architecture. Powered by the high-output 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six, it produces 540 hp while offering a significant improvement in fuel range for long cross-emirate drives. This specific unit stands out in Flame Red, a high-visibility color that maintains strong resale demand among desert enthusiasts. For the GCC buyer, the RHO offers a perfect balance between high-speed dune capability and the refined daily manners required for urban traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. It represents a strategic buy for those who want the wide-body presence and TRX-level suspension without the excessive fuel overhead of a supercharged V8.

This Car vs Other 2025 1500s

As a brand-new 2025 model, this RHO represents the very start of its generation in the GCC. While standard 1500s are common sights on local highways, the RHO is a specialized performance variant with a limited initial allocation, ensuring better value retention than mass-market trims. Its Flame Red exterior is a preferred choice for the region's off-road community, offering better visibility and aesthetic appeal for resale compared to standard fleet colors.

RHO vs Lower Trims

The RHO sits significantly above the Rebel, adding the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shock system and a high-output 540 hp Hurricane engine. It features a reinforced wide-body chassis that is 8 inches wider than a standard 1500, providing the footprint needed for high-speed desert stability. Inside, the RHO upgrades the cabin with a console-mounted floor shifter and 12-way power-adjustable performance seats, features rarely found on lower work-oriented trims.

1500 vs Segment Rivals

Against the Ford F-150 Raptor, the RAM 1500 RHO leads with a 90 hp power advantage from its twin-turbo straight-six. It offers a more luxurious interior with superior digital screen real estate, including an optional passenger-side display that is unique in this segment. The RAM's multi-link coil rear suspension also provides a more settled ride on the high-speed corrugated roads common in the UAE's Liwa region compared to traditional leaf-spring rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The new twin-turbo inline-six is notably more efficient than the outgoing V8, averaging approximately 13.8 L/100km on the highway. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and RAM’s authorized service network remains one of the strongest in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As the spiritual successor to the TRX, the RHO is expected to follow a similar depreciation curve, holding roughly 75-80% of its value after three years in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

With 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque, the RHO delivers effortless highway overtaking even at high speeds. The BorgWarner active transfer case and 35-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires allow for professional-level sand driving right off the showroom floor. It features nine selectable drive modes, including a dedicated 'Baja' mode that recalibrates the adaptive dampers specifically for high-speed desert undulations.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring powerful ventilated seats and a high-capacity air conditioning system that remains efficient even in 45°C+ heat. The interior is whisper-quiet thanks to active noise cancellation, making long trips between Abu Dhabi and Muscat much less fatiguing. Tech-focused buyers will appreciate the Uconnect 5 system, which is widely regarded as the most intuitive interface in the pickup segment.

Safety

The RHO comes standard with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are essential for navigating multi-lane GCC highways. The high-strength steel frame and advanced stability control system are specifically tuned to prevent rollovers during off-road maneuvers. Additionally, the 360-degree camera system makes parking this wide-body truck in urban environments significantly safer and easier.

The bottom line

For the performance enthusiast who needs a desert-capable wide-body truck that doesn't compromise on cabin luxury, this 2025 RHO is the smartest acquisition in the current GCC market.
