Renault Arkana EVOLUTION 1.3

Highlights

• 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating
• 513 litres boot space (seats up)
• 5.9 L/100km combined fuel consumption

Summary

This 1-year-old Renault Arkana is a rare find in the GCC market, offering the sleek silhouette of a luxury coupe SUV with the practical running costs of a compact crossover. With mileage significantly lower than the typical 25,000 km annual average for the region, it presents a nearly-new ownership experience. The vibrant Red exterior is a standout choice that highlights the modern 'NouvelR' diamond grille design, while the fuel-efficient 1.3L turbo engine is perfectly suited for Dubai's stop-start traffic. It bridges the gap between a family vehicle and a style-led commuter, providing a high-tech cabin and European driving dynamics at a highly competitive price point.

This Car vs Other 2025 Renault Arkanas

With just 29,576 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven very close to the expected annual mileage for a GCC-based car of this age. Most 2025 models in the market are only just reaching their first major service, making this a mechanically fresh example. The Red finish offers a more distinctive and premium look than the common white or silver variants found in local listings, which can aid resale appeal for buyers seeking a sportier aesthetic.

EVOLUTION vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim in the refreshed lineup, the Evolution is surprisingly well-equipped for the GCC market, featuring full LED C-shaped signature lighting and 17-inch Bahamas alloy wheels as standard. It includes essential local features like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and a 7-inch EASY LINK touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike basic crossovers in this segment, it also comes standard with tinted rear windows to help manage cabin temperatures during the summer months.

Arkana vs Segment Rivals

The Arkana leads rivals like the Volkswagen T-Roc and Kia Sportage in cargo versatility, offering a generous 513-litre boot that outperforms many traditional hatchbacks and compact SUVs. Its 50-litre fuel tank paired with a highly efficient turbocharged engine provides a theoretical range of over 800 km, making it an excellent choice for long weekend drives between Emirates. The unique coupe-inspired roofline gives it a premium road presence that most boxy competitors in this price bracket cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.3L turbocharged engine delivers an impressive official fuel economy of 5.9 L/100km, which translates to significant savings for daily commuters on the E11 or E311. Renault’s authorized service network is well-established across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with typical service intervals occurring every 10,000 to 15,000 km. The Arkana is expected to retain approximately 60-65% of its value over the first three years, a competitive depreciation rate that aligns with other established European crossovers in the GCC.

Performance & Capability

The 1.3L 4-cylinder turbo engine produces a perky 155 hp and 262 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 9.1 seconds. This power is managed by a smooth 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that provides responsive gear changes for highway overtaking. With 199 mm of ground clearance, it easily handles high speed bumps and gravel tracks, though its front-wheel-drive setup is optimized for on-road stability and urban efficiency.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is designed for a driver-centric experience with a digital instrument cluster and a leather-look multi-function steering wheel. The automatic climate control system is robust, featuring dedicated vents to ensure the 5-door cabin stays cool during peak GCC summer temperatures. The rear seats are surprisingly spacious for a coupe-SUV, offering ample legroom for four adults and ISOFIX points for family-friendly utility.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength, as the Arkana carries a maximum 5-star Euro NCAP rating. The Evolution trim comes standard with an impressive suite of ADAS technology, including Active Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keep Assist. These systems are particularly valuable for long-distance highway driving in the GCC, providing an extra layer of protection against fatigue and fast-moving traffic.

The bottom line

This 2025 Arkana is the perfect opportunity for a style-conscious professional or small family looking for a nearly-new, high-spec European SUV without the high-mileage concerns of older listings.
