Summary

This 2026 BYD Leopard 7 ULTRA is a practically new plug-in hybrid SUV with only 200 km on the odometer, offering a rare combination of supercar-level acceleration and genuine electric efficiency for the GCC commute. As the flagship ULTRA trim, it features the larger 35.6 kWh Blade battery and a sophisticated 20-speaker audio system that outperforms many established luxury rivals. The striking Green exterior is a standout choice that aligns well with the model's rugged, adventurous identity, though buyers should note this is a Chinese regional spec vehicle. For those looking to bridge the gap between a high-tech EV and a long-distance desert cruiser, this listing represents a significant saving over official local variants while offering a higher level of standard equipment.

This Car vs Other 2026 Leopard 7s

With just 200 km, this unit is essentially in showroom condition, far below the 20,000 km annual average typically seen for SUVs in the GCC. The Green exterior is a premium launch color that has shown strong appeal among enthusiast buyers, potentially aiding future resale value compared to more common white or silver units. As a 2026 model, it benefits from the latest software calibrations for the DM-o hybrid system not found on early production test units.

ULTRA vs Lower Trims

The ULTRA trim is the flagship of the Leopard 7 range, most notably adding the 26-inch AR head-up display and a massive 20-speaker premium audio system that includes dedicated driver-headrest speakers. It also features the larger 35.6 kWh battery pack for 190 km of electric range, whereas lower trims often carry a smaller 26.6 kWh unit. Additionally, the ULTRA includes massaged and ventilated front seats as standard, which are vital for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer months.

Leopard 7 vs Segment Rivals

The Leopard 7 competes with the Jetour T2 and the Hyundai Santa Fe, but leads the segment with its blistering 4.5-second acceleration and significantly higher combined power output of 483 hp. Its plug-in hybrid architecture offers nearly 190 km of pure electric range, allowing for a petrol-free daily commute in Dubai or Riyadh that petrol-only rivals cannot match. The 1,300 km total range (CLTC) also makes it superior for cross-border trips where charging infrastructure may be sparse.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 5.0 L/100 km in mixed driving, though this can rise to 11-12 L/100 km during high-speed highway runs once the battery is depleted. As a Chinese spec import, owners should utilize specialized service centers in Dubai or Riyadh that are equipped with the latest BYD diagnostic software for parallel imports. While Chinese spec cars face a steeper initial depreciation curve than GCC-official models, the ULTRA trim’s high equipment level helps maintain a stronger floor price in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The 483 hp all-wheel-drive system delivers a 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11 or E311 highways. With 210 mm of ground clearance and dedicated terrain modes, it is well-suited for light dune driving and weekend camping trips in the desert. The intelligent E-CVT ensures power delivery is smooth, transitioning seamlessly between the 1.5L turbo engine and the dual electric motors.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen and a high-resolution digital cockpit, creating a gadget-forward environment. Quad-zone climate control and ventilated Nappa-leather-style seats ensure all passengers stay cool during 50°C afternoons. The 20-speaker audio system and acoustic glass provide a serene driving experience, effectively isolating the cabin from road noise and desert winds.

Safety

This ULTRA trim comes standard with the full DiPilot 300 suite, featuring a 360° high-definition camera system and 12 ultrasonic sensors for effortless parking in tight city spaces. It includes active safety essentials like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection for fast-moving highway traffic, and Lane Keep Assist. The Blade Battery technology is also inherently safer than traditional lithium chemistries, offering higher thermal stability in extreme heat.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a flagship-spec Leopard 7 in a standout color with delivery mileage, perfect for the tech-savvy buyer who wants supercar performance with hybrid efficiency.
