Summary

This 2026 BYD Leopard 7 ULTRA offers a unique opportunity to own a flagship hybrid with effectively delivery mileage, presenting a significant advantage over high-use examples in the GCC. The distinctive Green exterior is a sought-after choice for enthusiasts in the region, supporting its future resale appeal compared to more common shades. As a 2026 model year, it features BYD's most refined dual-motor integration, delivering supercar-rivaling acceleration without the fuel costs typical of high-performance sedans. For the GCC buyer, this ULTRA trim stands out by bridging the gap between an executive highway cruiser and a tech-heavy performance car. Its plug-in hybrid system is perfectly suited to the long-distance Sharjah-Dubai-Abu Dhabi commutes, offering silent electric city driving and unlimited range for cross-border trips.

This Car vs Other 2026 Leopard 7s

With only 100 km on the odometer, this vehicle is essentially brand new, offering a significant mechanical advantage in a market where the average GCC car covers over 20,000 km annually. The Green finish is a premium color choice that differentiates this unit from standard fleet colors, often commanding better interest in the secondary market. Buying a 0-year-old vehicle ensures you are the first primary user, maximizing the benefit of the manufacturer's powertrain warranty.

ULTRA vs Lower Trims

The ULTRA trim is the definitive luxury specification, adding a 20-speaker premium audio system and a massive 26-inch AR Head-Up Display that are unavailable on Pro models. GCC-essential features like ventilated and massaged front seats come standard here, alongside Nappa leather upholstery that offers superior heat resistance in summer. You also benefit from the intelligent damping suspension system, which provides a significantly more refined ride on high-speed UAE highways compared to the standard passive setup.

Leopard 7 vs Segment Rivals

The Leopard 7 leads rivals like the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Honda Accord by offering a dedicated pure-electric mode with up to 190 km of range (CLTC), allowing for fuel-free daily commutes. Its 600 hp output dwarfs traditional executive sedans, providing safety through instant overtaking power on fast-moving multi-lane roads. The inclusion of a dedicated cooling refrigerator in the center console is a rare segment feature that gives it a clear edge for family road trips across the Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this hybrid system is exceptionally low in stop-start Dubai traffic, though figures will rise toward 12 L/100km on long highway stretches once the battery is depleted. Maintenance is simplified by BYD's growing authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with typical intervals occurring every 10,000 km or 12 months. While Chinese brands generally see a 12-15% annual depreciation in the GCC, the Leopard 7's high tech-spec and hybrid efficiency help it retain value better than traditional petrol-only alternatives. As a Chinese-spec vehicle in the local market, buyers should verify service compatibility with local distributors to ensure long-term value retention.

Performance & Capability

A verified 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds makes this one of the quickest hybrids available, ensuring confident merges onto 140 km/h motorways. The intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, despite the FWD-biased input data, utilizes dual electric motors to provide instant traction across sand-dusted road surfaces. It features 12 selectable terrain modes, allowing the driver to optimize the powertrain for everything from wet coastal roads to light gravel tracks. The 35.6 kWh Blade Battery is specifically engineered for thermal stability, a critical factor for maintaining performance during peak summer temperatures.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed with a business-class philosophy, featuring Soufflé-style architecture seats that provide exceptional support for long cross-border drives. Front and rear occupants benefit from dedicated climate zones and cooling vents, ensuring the interior remains comfortable even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. The cabin is dominated by a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen running the DiLink 100 system, providing 5G connectivity for seamless navigation across the GCC. Large acoustic glass panels help isolate the interior from wind noise, maintaining a quiet environment at high cruising speeds.

Safety

The ULTRA trim comes equipped with the full DiPilot 100 ADAS suite, which includes high-speed navigation assist and adaptive cruise control for relaxed desert highway driving. Standard safety features include a 360-degree camera system for tight urban parking and a unique tire-burst stability system that intervenes at speeds up to 140 km/h. Multiple airbags and a high-strength steel cage construction provide robust passive protection, while blind-spot monitoring is standard to assist in heavy multi-lane traffic.

The bottom line

For the tech-forward professional who wants supercar performance with hybrid running costs, this near-zero-mile ULTRA trim represents a peak opportunity in the current GCC market.
