Summary

The 2026 Changan CS55 Plus STD arrives as a modern, zero-year-old crossover that offers a significant technology and power advantage over many entry-level rivals. Featuring the latest 'Blue Whale' 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, it balances 178 horsepower with impressive fuel efficiency, making it ideal for the GCC's long highway stretches. This white exterior choice is highly strategic for the region, offering the best heat reflection and the strongest resale potential in the local used market. While this is the standard trim, it retains high-end cabin finishes and a futuristic cockpit that punches well above its weight in the compact SUV segment. For a buyer looking to secure a brand-new vehicle with contemporary styling and low running costs, this Chinese-spec listing is a compelling choice.

This Car vs Other 2026 CS55 Pluses

As a brand-new 2026 model, this CS55 Plus sits at the very start of its lifecycle with zero mileage, providing a major maintenance advantage in the GCC market where annual travel typically averages 25,000 km. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for used SUVs in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring it will attract more buyers and retain its value better than darker alternatives. Choosing a 2026 model year ensures you have the latest design updates and the most efficient iteration of the Blue Whale powertrain.

STD vs Lower Trims

The STD trim serves as the gateway to the CS55 Plus lineup, yet it maintains the core performance metrics of the 1.5T engine found in higher versions. Unlike basic crossovers in this class, the STD includes essential GCC features like rear air-conditioning vents and a high-resolution digital cockpit as standard. While it skips the ventilated seats and 360-degree cameras of the Tianshu trims, it offers the best weight-to-power ratio for those prioritizing fuel economy and a lower initial purchase price.

CS55 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The CS55 Plus is frequently cross-shopped with the Haval H6 and the Ford Territory. It leads the segment in torque-per-litre, offering a more responsive 310 Nm of torque compared to many naturally aspirated competitors, which is vital for safe highway overtaking. Additionally, its compact footprint and tight turning circle make it more maneuverable in dense city traffic than the larger H6, without sacrificing significant rear legroom.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a standout feature, with a manufacturer-rated combined consumption of 6.9 L/100km under the WLTC cycle, though GCC stop-start traffic may see figures closer to 8.5 L/100km. Changan's presence is rapidly growing in the region, with extensive authorized service networks now established across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While Chinese brands typically see higher initial depreciation than Japanese rivals, the CS55 Plus's massive global sales volume—over one million units—helps stabilize parts availability and second-hand demand.

Performance & Capability

Performance is driven by the high-pressure direct injection 1.5T engine, producing a healthy 178 hp and 310 Nm of torque. This power is delivered through a smooth 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, which is better suited for the high-temperature GCC climate than older dry-clutch designs. With a top speed of 190 km/h and multiple steering modes (Comfort and Sport), it handles everything from weekend trips between Emirates to daily suburban commutes with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout features a futuristic staggered dual-screen design with a 10.25-inch digital cluster. The automatic climate control system is specifically tuned for high-performance cooling, featuring essential rear vents to keep all passengers comfortable during the peak summer months. Practicality is a major draw, with 475 litres of cargo space that expands to 1,415 litres when the 60:40 rear seats are folded flat.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for the STD trim, including high-strength body construction and multiple airbags. Standard features include tire pressure monitoring, which is critical for long desert highway drives, and stability control systems to maintain traction on varying road surfaces. The vehicle also features electronic parking brakes and advanced braking assistance to ensure reliable stopping power in the fast-moving traffic common in major GCC cities.

The bottom line

This 2026 Changan CS55 Plus is the perfect match for a value-conscious professional or small family looking for a brand-new SUV with modern tech and high resale potential in a GCC-friendly white finish.
