Summary

This 2026 Changan X5 Plus in Beyond Pro trim is a standout choice for those seeking a modern, tech-forward SUV without the premium price tag. Powered by the efficient Blue Whale 1.5T engine, it delivers a surprising 190 hp, making it more spirited than many rivals in its class. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the GCC, offering strong resale appeal and ease of maintenance in dusty environments. With its driver-focused cabin and high equipment levels, this model bridges the gap between a compact commuter and a premium crossover. It represents a smart opportunity for buyers who prioritize rapid acceleration and cutting-edge interior tech for their daily drive.

This Car vs Other 2026 X5 Pluss

As a current-year 2026 model, this vehicle offers the very latest in Changan's design evolution with zero mileage wear-and-tear. While many used SUVs in the GCC cover upwards of 25,000 km annually, this car provides a fresh starting point for a long ownership cycle. The Grey finish is particularly favored in the regional used market for its ability to retain a clean look despite the harsh summer sun.

BEYOND PRO vs Lower Trims

The Beyond Pro trim significantly elevates the ownership experience over base variants by adding a massive 30-inch wrap-around triple-screen display and a 540-degree panoramic camera system. It also includes luxury essentials for the GCC climate, such as an openable panoramic sunroof and perforated sports seats with electric adjustment. These high-spec features are major value drivers that make the Beyond Pro much more desirable at the point of resale.

X5 Plus vs Segment Rivals

The X5 Plus competes directly with the Haval H6 and Geely Coolray, distinguishing itself with a more aggressive, coupe-like silhouette and superior torque figures. Its 2,715 mm wheelbase is one of the longest in the compact segment, providing class-leading legroom that rivals often struggle to match. This extra space makes it a more viable family vehicle for long-distance trips across the Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.5T engine is approximately 6.95 L/100km, offering excellent efficiency for highway commuting between cities. Changan has established a robust service network across the GCC, including major centers in Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah, ensuring parts are readily available. While European rivals may depreciate faster, Changan's growing reputation for reliability helps this model maintain competitive value retention in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is the 7.51-second 0-100 km/h sprint, which provides confident overtaking power on fast-moving GCC highways. The 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission is specifically tuned for smooth shifts in stop-start city traffic, while the 310 Nm of torque ensures the car never feels underpowered even when fully loaded. With a top speed of 205 km/h, it is well-suited for the long-distance travel common in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a futuristic triple-screen layout that places all vital information directly in the driver's line of sight. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air conditioning vents and a virtually flat floor, which are essential for comfort during the peak GCC summer months. High-quality acoustic insulation and supportive sports seats with red stitching create a refined atmosphere that feels a segment above its price point.

Safety

The Beyond Pro trim comes standard with an advanced L2-level intelligent driving suite, including lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking. The 540-degree 'transparent chassis' camera system is particularly useful for navigating tight urban parking and avoiding hidden obstacles. Multiple airbags and electronic stability control provide a secure safety net for both highway speeds and city commutes.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants 2026 technology and rapid performance at a value-driven price point, this high-spec Beyond Pro is a top-tier opportunity in the current market.
