Summary

This 2026 Deepal S07 620 MAX is a standout choice for those entering the premium electric SUV market, offering a sophisticated Italian-designed exterior finished in a classic black that holds its value exceptionally well in the GCC. With its larger 79.97 kWh battery, this trim addresses the primary need for long-distance range during cross-emirate commutes or weekend trips. It delivers a tech-forward experience that rivals established luxury brands, featuring high-end materials and an innovative cabin layout. As a Chinese-spec vehicle, it provides a significantly higher equipment-to-price ratio than many local competitors, making it a compelling alternative to the Tesla Model Y. For any buyer in the region, the combination of striking aesthetics and advanced Huawei-powered cabin tech makes this one of the most modern EVs on the road today.

This Car vs Other 2026 Deepal S07s

While typical EVs in the GCC cover significant highway mileage between major cities, this zero-year-old vehicle arrives as a fresh example of Deepal's flagship SUV. Its black exterior is one of the most preferred colors in the local used market, ensuring strong resale interest and a professional aesthetic that suits both business and family use.

620 MAX vs Lower Trims

The 620 MAX is the long-range powerhouse of the lineup, adding a significantly larger battery over the standard 520 trims to eliminate range anxiety on longer drives. Inside, this trim upgrades the experience with the signature 15.6-inch Sunflower rotating screen and a premium 14-speaker Sony audio system that includes dedicated driver headrest speakers for private navigation prompts.

S07 vs Segment Rivals

The S07 leads segment rivals like the BYD Atto 3 and Tesla Model Y with its unique Italian-led design and 'Zero Gravity' front passenger seat, which offers superior comfort during long waits or charging stops. Its Huawei-integrated smart cockpit provides a more intuitive and responsive interface than many traditional competitors, specifically catering to tech-savvy users.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating costs are exceptionally low, with electric consumption averaging roughly 14.2 kWh/100km, making it far cheaper to run than any petrol-powered SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. While this is a Chinese-spec model, parts availability is growing rapidly across the UAE and Saudi Arabia through specialized importers. Resale value for Deepal is tracking well in the region, benefiting from Changan's established global manufacturing reputation.

Performance & Capability

The rear-mounted motor produces 218 hp, providing the instantaneous torque typical of premium EVs for effortless highway overtaking. It handles GCC roads with confidence thanks to a re-engineered multi-link rear suspension designed to minimize body roll. For family duties, it offers a 1,500 kg braked towing capacity and a useful 125-litre 'frunk' for storing charging cables or extra gear.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is built for the heat, featuring standard ventilated front seats and a powerful dual-zone climate control system with rear-seat vents. A massive 1.9 square meter panoramic glass roof creates a spacious atmosphere, while high-quality acoustic glazing helps isolate the interior from road noise during high-speed highway cruising. The rotating central screen intelligently tilts 15 degrees toward the driver for better visibility in bright daylight.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Huawei Qiankun ADAS suite, which includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality—perfect for Dubai-Sharjah traffic. Standard features include 360-degree cameras with a transparent chassis view to navigate tight parking spots, plus lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and six airbags. The system also includes unique pet and child presence detection for added peace of mind.

The bottom line

This Deepal S07 620 MAX is the ideal match for an early adopter looking for a high-range, tech-heavy SUV that looks and feels like a luxury product without the premium price tag.
