Summary

This 2026 GAC GS8 GX is a standout opportunity in the GCC used market, offering nearly new vehicle technology with a mileage that is significantly below the regional annual average. Finished in Crystal White, it carries the most sought-after resale color in the Gulf, ensuring strong value retention for the next owner. The GS8 has quickly gained a reputation for providing executive-level cabin space and tech that rivals established Japanese and American seven-seaters at a much more accessible price point. With its all-wheel-drive system and 248 horsepower turbocharged engine, it handles long highway cruises across the Emirates with ease while maintaining excellent refinement. For a buyer seeking the latest in safety and luxury without the premium price tag, this flagship GX trim is the definitive choice.

This Car vs Other 2026 GAC GS8s

With just 11,977 km on the odometer, this GS8 is essentially in its break-in phase compared to the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The Crystal White exterior is not only the most practical choice for reflecting intense summer heat but also remains the top-performing color for resale liquidity in Dubai and Riyadh. Choosing this lightly used example offers a significant saving over a showroom-new model while still benefiting from the bulk of the manufacturer warranty.

GX vs Lower Trims

As the range-topping GX trim, this model adds significant luxury and tech features over the GL and GT variants. It exclusively features the Alpine premium sound system and a massive 30-inch Head-Up Display that makes navigating fast-moving highway traffic much safer. Interior upgrades include ventilated front seats and the 'Boss Key' passenger adjustment, providing a level of passenger comfort usually reserved for high-end European SUVs.

GS8 vs Segment Rivals

The GS8 competes directly with the Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Highlander, leading both in terms of standard technology and interior screen real estate. While rivals often reserve features like a 540-degree camera and 20-inch wheels for their most expensive packages, they are standard here. Its monocoque chassis provides a more car-like, refined ride on paved roads compared to body-on-frame competitors, making it an ideal urban family cruiser.

Running Costs & Resale

The GS8 achieves a verified combined fuel economy of approximately 9.1L/100km, which is efficient for a seven-seater of this size. GAC has established a robust service network across the GCC, particularly through Aljomaih in Saudi Arabia and Gargash in the UAE, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. The model has shown impressive value retention, reaching up to 77% over three years, making it a stable asset in the regional market.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine produces 400 Nm of torque, providing plenty of low-end pull for overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. The Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, and the selectable drive modes—including Sand and Mud—allow for confident weekend trips to desert campsites. While it is road-biased, the All-Wheel Drive system provides essential stability during the region’s occasional heavy rain and on gravel tracks.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GX trim is defined by its 14.6-inch HD touchscreen and tri-zone climate control, which features powerful cooling dedicated to the second and third rows. The cabin is insulated with acoustic glass to minimize wind noise during high-speed travel, creating a quiet environment for all seven passengers. Premium materials and ambient lighting give the interior a sophisticated feel that punches well above its weight class.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive in the GX trim, featuring a full ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Keeping Assist. The 540-degree camera system includes a 'transparent chassis' view, which is incredibly useful for avoiding high curbs or navigating tight parking spots in busy malls. Multiple airbags and a high-strength steel cage ensure maximum protection for the whole family.

The bottom line

This 2026 GS8 GX is the perfect match for a family seeking a high-tech, low-mileage flagship SUV that offers a luxury experience at a fraction of the cost of its Japanese rivals.
