Summary

This 2026 Hyundai Kona Comfort Plus is a premier opportunity for GCC buyers, offering near-zero mileage in a striking Green finish that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver. As a brand-new second-generation model, it benefits from a significant architectural leap, providing a much larger cabin and class-leading cargo versatility compared to previous versions. The 2.0L naturally aspirated powertrain is highly regarded in the region for its mechanical simplicity and ease of maintenance at any authorized center across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. For urban professionals or small families, this GCC-spec listing offers a perfect balance of modern digital tech and long-term value retention.

This Car vs Other 2026 Konas

With just 50 km on the odometer, this Kona is effectively a brand-new vehicle, offering a significant advantage over typical 2026 models that will soon accumulate high highway mileage on regional commutes. The unique Green exterior is a refreshing choice for the GCC market, where distinct factory colors often command higher interest in the boutique pre-owned segment. Being a GCC-spec unit, it is fully optimized for the local climate with enhanced cooling systems not found on imported North American or European versions.

COMFORT PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Comfort Plus trim significantly upgrades the daily driving experience over the base Smart trim by adding a power sunroof and larger 18-inch alloy wheels that improve road presence. Inside, it features a dual-zone automatic climate control system and rear AC vents, which are essential for maintaining passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. Additionally, this trim includes a wireless device charger and a 12.3-inch high-resolution infotainment screen that integrates seamlessly with your smartphone.

Kona vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Nissan Kicks or Toyota C-HR, the 2026 Kona leads with a more modern 'EV-first' interior design and superior rear legroom thanks to its extended wheelbase. While competitors often rely on smaller-displacement turbocharged engines, the Kona’s 2.0L MPI unit is built for durability, avoiding the heat-soak issues often associated with small turbos in desert traffic. Its flat-folding rear seat mechanism also provides a more practical loading area than many other subcompact crossovers in the segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The Kona delivers an efficient 7.5 L/100km combined, which translates well to GCC driving where long highway stints between emirates help maximize the 50-litre fuel tank. Hyundai's extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensures that maintenance is affordable and parts are readily available. The second-generation Kona is expected to follow the brand's strong regional trend, typically retaining roughly 78-82% of its value after the first three years. As a GCC-spec model, it bypasses the warranty and parts compatibility hurdles often faced by American-spec imports.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L Smartstream engine produces a reliable 147 hp, providing a smooth and predictable power delivery that is ideal for both tight city maneuvering and steady highway cruising. It achieves 0-100 km/h in approximately 10 seconds, offering enough punch for confident overtaking on fast-moving UAE motorways. Multiple drive modes, including Sport and Eco, allow you to calibrate the transmission response to suit either the daily commute or a weekend road trip. The front-wheel-drive setup is optimized for efficiency, ensuring the vehicle remains light and agile in heavy traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a massive 12.3-inch digital interface, providing a premium cockpit feel that rivals much more expensive SUVs. The redesign has unlocked 970 mm of rear legroom, making it one of the few subcompact SUVs where three adults can sit comfortably in the back. GCC-specific considerations are met with a powerful air conditioning system and acoustic windshield glass that helps insulate the interior from both external heat and highway wind noise. The cargo area is exceptionally versatile, offering 544 litres of space that expands to a cavernous flat floor when the 60/40 seats are stowed.

Safety

This trim comes standard with the Hyundai SmartSense suite, featuring Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision Warning—critical for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. Passive safety is robust with a full 6-airbag system and Electronic Stability Control as standard. The high-resolution rearview camera and rear parking sensors make parking in tight urban spaces effortless, while the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) provides peace of mind during long-distance desert drives.

The bottom line

This 2026 Kona Comfort Plus is the ideal choice for a buyer wanting a brand-new, tech-forward SUV with a unique color profile and the full peace of mind that comes with GCC specifications.
