Summary

The 2026 Lexus RX350h Platinum represents the sweet spot of the RX lineup, offering a premium hybrid experience that excels in the unique driving conditions of the GCC. With its self-charging 2.5-litre system, it delivers significant fuel savings during heavy city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh without the need for plug-in infrastructure. The Platinum trim (Executive in some markets) elevates the cabin with high-end materials and acoustic glass, making long highway drives between emirates remarkably serene. As a brand-new vehicle with Canadian specifications, it offers a sophisticated alternative to local dealer stock with a high level of luxury equipment. For the GCC buyer, this model provides the legendary Lexus reliability and strong resale value that has made the RX a segment leader for decades.

This Car vs Other 2026 RX350hs

As a zero-km 2026 model, this vehicle sits at the very beginning of its lifecycle, offering a 'fresh-start' advantage over older stock. The Eminent White exterior is the most sought-after color in the GCC used market, ensuring maximum appeal and value retention at the time of resale. While the Canadian spec differs slightly from local GCC versions, the core hybrid mechanicals and luxury appointments are globally consistent and highly respected by regional service specialists.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim sits at the top of the range, adding essential GCC comfort features that are missing on the Premium and Luxury grades. You get the superior 14-inch high-resolution touchscreen, a 21-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, and semi-aniline leather seats that offer better durability and comfort in high temperatures. Most importantly for our climate, it includes upgraded ventilated front seats and a head-up display to keep your eyes on the road during bright daylight driving.

RX350h vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW X5 xDrive30e or the Volvo XC60 Recharge, the RX350h leads on long-term ownership peace of mind and simplicity, as its self-charging hybrid system requires no external cables. It offers a more relaxed, comfort-oriented ride quality than the sport-tuned European rivals, which is often preferred for long-distance cruising on the E11. Additionally, the Lexus maintains a significantly higher residual value in the GCC than its German or Swedish counterparts.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect an impressive combined fuel consumption of approximately 6.5 L/100km, which can drop even lower in heavy urban traffic where the electric motor does the heavy lifting. The 65-litre fuel tank provides a theoretical range of over 1,000 km, making it an ideal companion for cross-border trips. Lexus remains a top-tier brand for value retention in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, typically losing only 8–10% of its value annually compared to much higher rates for European luxury SUVs. Authorized service centers like Al-Futtaim and Abdul Latif Jameel provide extensive support across the region.

Performance & Capability

The 246 hp hybrid powertrain delivers a smooth 0-100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds, providing confident merging power for fast-moving GCC highways. The intelligent All-Wheel Drive system standard on this trim uses a dedicated rear electric motor to provide instant traction on sandy or rain-slicked roads without the weight of a traditional driveshaft. While it is road-biased, the RX350h handles gravel tracks and weekend escapes to the desert outskirts with ease, supported by a sophisticated multi-link rear suspension.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a masterclass in insulation, featuring acoustic glass to block out wind noise during high-speed highway travel. The Platinum trim's four-zone climate control and powerful AC system are specifically engineered to maintain a chilled environment even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. Passengers in the rear benefit from dedicated cooling vents and a flat floor design that provides more legroom than many rivals in the mid-size luxury segment.

Safety

Equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, this RX350h includes a comprehensive suite of ADAS features essential for regional driving. This includes All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control for effortless highway stints and a 360° Panoramic View Monitor that makes parking in tight city spaces simple. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provides critical protection against fast-approaching vehicles in multi-lane traffic, while 10 airbags provide a high level of passive safety for all occupants.

The bottom line

This 2026 Platinum hybrid is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the highest level of Lexus luxury combined with class-leading fuel efficiency and the best resale security in the GCC market.
