Summary

This 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is a high-performance seven-seater that effectively bridges the gap between a track-capable sports car and a luxury family SUV. Finished in Black, a color that commands the highest resale demand in the GCC market, this model offers a distinct advantage for future value retention. The GLS 63 stands apart by providing genuine adult-sized space in the third row, a feat rarely matched by its performance-focused rivals. For a GCC owner, the combination of advanced cabin cooling and the M177 biturbo V8 makes it perfectly suited for high-speed highway travel between emirates even in the peak of summer. This listing represents an opportunity to own the current pinnacle of the Mercedes SUV lineup with a handcrafted powertrain.

This Car vs Other 2026 GLS63 AMGs

While typical high-performance SUVs in the UAE and Saudi Arabia cover 20,000–25,000 km annually due to extensive highway use, this 2026 model provides a fresh baseline for the next owner. The Black exterior is highly strategic for the GCC used market, consistently holding a value premium over niche colors and ensuring a faster exit when it is time to sell. Its mechanical setup is fully optimized for the region’s long-distance driving culture, offering a more robust cooling system than standard luxury crossovers.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG GLS 63 adds significant upgrades over the GLS 580 that are highly valued by GCC buyers, including the hand-assembled biturbo V8 and the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL system for superior roll stabilization on fast highway bends. It features standard ventilated front and rear Nappa leather seats—a necessity for the local climate—and the Burmester® Surround Sound system with Dolby Atmos. You also benefit from the AMG-specific grille and 21-inch wheels that provide the aggressive road presence expected in major GCC cities.

GLS63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Against the BMW X7 M60i and the Range Rover, the GLS 63 leads in seating utility, offering a verified 34.6 inches of third-row legroom that allows seven adults to travel comfortably. While the Range Rover excels in deep sand capability, the Mercedes offers a more composed and agile 'S-Class' ride quality on tarmac with its sophisticated air suspension. Its 90-liter fuel tank is a major advantage for non-stop journeys between Dubai and Muscat or Riyadh and Dammam.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages 15.2L/100km on the highway, though GCC city traffic can see figures rise above 20L/100km. Mercedes-Benz maintains a massive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with recommended service intervals occurring every 15,000 km or annually. The GLS 63 historically retains 60-70% of its value over three years in the GCC, performing well against European luxury rivals due to its high demand as a status symbol. Owners should budget for premium 98-octane fuel and specialized AMG component maintenance to preserve this value.

Performance & Capability

The handcrafted 4.0L V8 biturbo engine delivers a verified 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.2 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. With 602 hp and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system providing instant torque, the vehicle feels significantly lighter than its 2.7-tonne curb weight suggests. It is a capable hauler for weekend trips, featuring a maximum 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and a dedicated 'Transparent Hood' camera mode for navigating rough terrain or steep inclines during desert excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of 'Performance Luxury,' featuring 5-zone automatic climate control to ensure every passenger, including those in the third row, remains cool in extreme heat. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation keep the interior quiet even at high cruising speeds, while the massaging front seats reduce fatigue on long journeys. The MBUX infotainment suite with twin 12.3-inch displays provides seamless navigation and connectivity, framed by carbon fiber trim and AMG-specific digital interfaces.

Safety

Safety is managed by a full suite of standard ADAS technologies, including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC for relaxed desert highway cruising and Pre-Safe® Plus to protect against rear-end collisions. Blind-spot monitoring and a 360° camera system are essential for navigating the dense, multi-lane traffic of Dubai and Riyadh. The vehicle is also equipped with multiple airbags and electronic limited-slip differentials to maintain stability on diverse surfaces from wet tarmac to gravel tracks.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs the utility of a seven-seater but refuses to sacrifice the prestige and raw power of an AMG, this 2026 GLS 63 in Black is the definitive choice. It is a highly liquid asset in the local market that offers the perfect balance of family comfort and executive presence.
