Summary

This 2021 Brabus G800 represents the pinnacle of the G-Wagon hierarchy, offering a significant performance leap over the standard G63 AMG. With 49,000 km, this European-spec example has been driven slightly more than the typical UAE weekend car but remains well within the range for a high-performance daily driver in the GCC. The Obsidian Black finish is the most sought-after color for resale in the region, ensuring strong value retention and immediate curb appeal. For a buyer in the GCC, this is an opportunity to own a bespoke widebody icon that balances extreme 1,000 Nm torque with the reliability of a modern Mercedes-Benz platform. The combination of the Brabus Widestar kit and the upgraded PowerXtra B40S-800 kit makes this a far more exclusive proposition than a factory-standard AMG.

This Car vs Other 2021 G63 AMGs

While a standard 2021 G63 AMG is a common sight on UAE roads, this Brabus G800 is a rare conversion that commands a different level of respect. The mileage of 49,000 km is average for a four-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where highway commutes between emirates add up quickly. Unlike standard models, the Brabus enhancements mean this car has already undergone a total aesthetic and mechanical overhaul, making it a turnkey choice for those who find the factory G63 too subtle.

BRABUS G800 vs Lower Trims

The G800 trim is a comprehensive upgrade over the base G63 AMG, adding the signature Widestar body kit with flared carbon fiber arches and 23-inch Monoblock forged wheels. Performance is elevated via larger turbochargers and a stainless steel sport exhaust with active valve control, which allows you to switch between a loud V8 bark and a 'Coming Home' whisper. Inside, the Brabus Masterpiece treatment often includes additional carbon fiber trim and bespoke upholstery that far exceeds the standard Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur options.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G800 competes in a narrow space against the Lamborghini Urus and the Mansory-tuned Cullinan. While the Urus offers sharper handling on a track, the G800 leads in presence and vertical visibility, which is highly valued in heavy GCC traffic. Its body-on-frame construction also provides a level of ruggedness for desert transitions that monocoque rivals cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the G800 averages around 14.8 L/100km, though stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai or Riyadh will see this rise significantly. Service intervals follow the standard Mercedes-AMG 15,000 km or 12-month schedule, and the extensive Mercedes-Benz authorized network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensures easy maintenance. While European-spec cars may not carry a local dealer warranty, they are well-supported by independent specialists who focus on high-end German imports, and the Brabus nameplate helps buffer the steeper depreciation typically seen in luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The headline is the 800 hp output, which delivers a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 4.1 seconds—staggering for a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a vault. The 1,000 Nm of torque provides effortless overtaking power on the E11 highway, even at high speeds. Despite its luxury focus, it retains the triple-locking differentials and low-range transfer case that make the G-Class a legend, though the 23-inch Brabus wheels are better suited to urban promenades than deep sand dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of black leather and carbon fiber, featuring the dual 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit. Crucially for the GCC climate, it comes equipped with high-performance ventilation for the front seats and a powerful multi-zone climate control system that can cool the large cabin even in 45°C heat. The Burmester surround sound system is standard, providing a crisp audio experience that remains audible over the throaty exhaust note.

Safety

The G800 benefits from the full Mercedes-Benz safety suite, including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and Blind Spot Assist, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. The 360° camera system is particularly helpful for parking such a wide vehicle in tight urban spaces. Standard features also include Pre-Safe collision-mitigation and Lane Keeping Assist, ensuring the car is as safe as it is powerful.

The bottom line

This Brabus G800 is the ultimate choice for a GCC buyer who wants the status of a G-Wagon with performance that humbles most sports cars. It offers a unique combination of European exclusivity and the most desirable color for the local market, representing a significant saving over a fresh conversion.
