Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP represents a rare opportunity to own a cutting-edge hybrid SUV that is currently redefining the luxury adventure segment in the GCC. With its advanced range-extender powertrain, it offers the silent efficiency of an EV with the long-range security required for cross-country drives between Dubai and Riyadh. The VIP trim is the absolute pinnacle of the lineup, featuring a rare 6-seat configuration that prioritizes middle-row comfort above all else. Its striking Green exterior is a sophisticated choice that stands out in a market saturated with white and silver, yet remains tasteful enough to maintain strong residual value. For the buyer looking to balance massive power with sustainable daily commuting, this ROX 01 provides a unique combination of 400 hp performance and family-oriented utility. The primary consideration for a GCC owner here is the sheer level of integrated technology, which far surpasses traditional luxury rivals in this price bracket.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

Being a 2026 model year vehicle, this ROX 01 is effectively in showroom condition and represents the latest engineering refinements available from the manufacturer. In the GCC market, where many vehicles of this size quickly accumulate high mileage due to inter-city commuting, a 2026 model provides a significant advantage in terms of mechanical longevity and warranty coverage. The unique Green finish is a premium choice that is significantly harder to find than the standard palette, offering a touch of exclusivity for the discerning owner. Most available units on the market are the standard 7-seat versions, making this specific VIP 6-seater a much more desirable configuration for those who prioritize passenger experience. Choosing a 2026 model also ensures that all software suites and battery management systems are the most current versions, optimized for the high-temperature performance required in the region. This is a chance to skip the waitlists associated with new luxury hybrid imports while securing a vehicle that is essentially fresh off the production line.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is a transformative upgrade over the standard ROX 01, most notably replacing the second-row bench with two ultra-luxury airline-style captain chairs. These seats are equipped with heating, ventilation, and a professional-grade massage function, which are essential for maintaining comfort during the intense GCC summer months. While lower trims focus on maximum passenger occupancy, the VIP focuses on the quality of the journey, providing dedicated armrests and significantly more individual space for second-row occupants. Furthermore, the VIP trim includes an upgraded interior material package with higher-grade Nappa leather and soft-touch surfaces throughout the cabin. You also benefit from an enhanced ambient lighting system and a more powerful climate control unit that features independent zones for each of the three rows. This trim also standardizes the full suite of autonomous driving sensors, which are often optional or restricted on base models, providing a safer and more relaxed driving experience on the E11 or other major highways.

ROX 01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 competes in a high-stakes segment against established names like the Li Auto L9 and the BMW X7, yet it carves out its own niche through rugged capability mixed with hybrid efficiency. Unlike the BMW, which relies on traditional petrol engines that can be costly to fuel for daily UAE commutes, the ROX 01 uses its 1.5L range-extender to provide massive fuel savings in stop-start city traffic. It offers a more rugged, off-road inspired aesthetic than the Li Auto, appealing to GCC buyers who want a vehicle that looks as capable in the dunes as it does at a valet stand. The 400 hp output puts it on par with many V8 competitors, but with the immediate torque delivery typical of electric motors, making it exceptionally responsive. Additionally, the ROX 01 provides a more modern, screen-heavy dashboard architecture than many European rivals, catering to a tech-savvy generation of drivers. Its 6-seat layout also provides easier access to the third row compared to the cramped rear quarters found in many mid-size luxury SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the ROX 01 are remarkably low for a vehicle of this size, thanks to its sophisticated hybrid system that allows for significant electric-only driving ranges. In typical Dubai or Riyadh traffic, the fuel consumption is a fraction of what a traditional 4-4 SUV would demand, making it one of the most economical choices in its class. Service intervals are typically spaced every 10,000 km, involving standard inspections of the petrol generator and the electric drive units. As a newer brand in the GCC, ROX is rapidly expanding its service footprint, with major hubs already established in the UAE to support parts availability and technical maintenance. Resale value for high-end Chinese hybrids is currently seeing a strong upward trend in the region as infrastructure for electrified vehicles improves and buyer confidence grows. You can expect a depreciation curve that is competitive with premium European brands, especially as the 2026 model year will remain relevant for several years to come. The VIP trim specifically holds its value better due to the high demand for executive-style seating configurations in the used market.

Performance & Capability

With 400 hp and a sophisticated Four Wheel Drive system, the ROX 01 VIP delivers performance that belies its family-SUV dimensions. The acceleration is smooth and linear, allowing for confident overtaking on fast-moving UAE motorways even when fully loaded with six passengers. It features multiple drive modes that calibrate the suspension and power delivery for different terrains, making it surprisingly capable on gravel tracks and light desert trails. The 1.5L engine acts primarily as a generator, ensuring that you never experience the 'range anxiety' associated with pure electric vehicles during long trips across the Emirates. The ground clearance is ample for navigating speed bumps and varied road surfaces, while the air suspension provides a cloud-like ride quality that isolates the cabin from road noise. Whether you are cruising at 140 km/h on the highway to Abu Dhabi or navigating tight urban parking, the automatic transmission and electric torque make the experience effortless. This SUV is designed for the modern GCC lifestyle where one car must handle the daily school run, executive commuting, and weekend exploration.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the ROX 01 VIP is a sanctuary of tech and comfort designed specifically to combat the harsh outdoor climate of the Middle East. The 6-seat layout ensures that every passenger has a sense of personal space, with the second-row captain chairs serving as the highlight of the cabin. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, featuring high-output vents that can pull down cabin temperatures from 50°C to a comfortable level in just minutes. Triple-zone climate control allows the driver, front passenger, and rear occupants to set their own temperatures, preventing the common GCC 'cooling conflicts' during family trips. The cabin is also exceptionally well-insulated, utilizing acoustic glass to keep the desert wind and traffic hum outside. Integrated into the dash is a massive high-definition infotainment system that controls everything from the 360-degree cameras to the premium audio setup. For long drives, the inclusion of multiple USB-C ports and wireless charging pads ensures that every passenger's device remains powered, while the panoramic sunroof provides a sense of openness without compromising heat insulation.

Safety

Safety in the ROX 01 VIP is managed by one of the most comprehensive sensor suites available on the market today, including high-resolution cameras and radar. The Most advanced ADAS standard includes features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist, which are transformative for reducing driver fatigue on long desert stretches. For city driving, the Automatic Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Monitoring provide an essential layer of protection in heavy, multi-lane traffic common in major GCC hubs. The vehicle is built on a high-strength steel chassis designed to provide maximum occupant protection in the event of a collision, complemented by a full array of airbags covering all three rows. Stability control and traction management are specifically tuned for varying surfaces, ensuring the car remains planted even if you encounter sand drift on the highway. This VIP trim ensures that safety is not an optional extra, but a foundational part of the driving experience, giving you total peace of mind whether you are driving solo or with your family.

The bottom line

This ROX 01 VIP is the perfect match for a tech-forward family or executive looking for the ultimate 6-seat luxury experience without the high fuel bills of a traditional SUV. As a 2026 model in the most desirable trim and color, it offers a nearly-new ownership experience and represents a smart, future-proof investment in the evolving GCC automotive landscape.
