Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP represents a rare opportunity to own a virtually new, range-extender hybrid SUV with only 16 km on the odometer. As a 2026 model, it offers a significant technological lead over its 2024 and 2025 rivals, featuring a massive 467 hp output that provides a unique blend of high-performance driving and ultra-low hybrid running costs. The VIP trim is the highest specification available, offering a luxury-focused 7-seat layout that perfectly suits the large-family lifestyle common in the UAE and wider GCC. Its Grey exterior is one of the most stable and sought-after resale colors in the local market, ensuring strong value retention for years to come. For the GCC buyer, this vehicle provides a compelling alternative to traditional full-size SUVs by combining a fuel-efficient 1.5L range extender with a powerful electric motor system. The most important consideration for a local buyer is the seamless transition between city electric driving and long-distance highway cruising without the range anxiety of a pure EV.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

With just 16 km, this vehicle is essentially in showroom condition, significantly lower than the average mileage for 2026 models arriving in the GCC. While the typical annual mileage for an SUV in this region ranges between 20,000 and 25,000 km, this specific unit allows the buyer to enjoy the full lifespan of all mechanical components from day one. The Grey paintwork is a strategic choice for the Middle East, as it hides dust better than darker colors and maintains a premium aesthetic even after long desert drives. Compared to other 2026 units that may have already seen test-drive use or transit wear, this ROX 01 is a fresh arrival. This represents a distinct advantage for buyers who prioritize a 'brand new' feel and the maximum possible residual value at the end of their ownership cycle.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is a significant step up from the standard configurations, primarily focusing on the second-row experience and high-end cabin materials. Unlike lower trims that may prioritize basic utility, the VIP variant introduces airline-style seating with integrated ventilation, heating, and massage functions, which are indispensable during the intense GCC summer months. The tech suite is also vastly expanded, featuring a more robust ADAS implementation and a premium audio system that outclasses the standard units found in entry-level models. You will also find higher-quality soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, elevating the feel of the 7-seat environment to a level comparable with European luxury marques. For the driver, the VIP trim ensures that 360-degree high-definition cameras and automated parking assistance are standard, making this large SUV much easier to navigate in tight city parking environments like those found in Downtown Dubai or Riyadh.

ROX 01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 competes in a high-growth segment against rivals like the Li Auto L9 and the Voyah Free, yet it distinguishes itself through its rugged, boxy aesthetic and superior power output of 467 hp. While many segment competitors focus purely on soft city driving, the ROX 01 offers a Four Wheel Drive system that provides better stability on gravel roads and sandy tracks common during weekend excursions. Its 7-seat configuration is more spacious than the 5-seat setups often found in mid-size hybrid SUVs, giving it a clear advantage for large families. The 1.5L range-extender engine is optimized for efficiency, allowing for a total range that exceeds many purely petrol-powered rivals, making it ideal for the long-distance hauls between Abu Dhabi and Muscat. Additionally, the cabin insulation in the ROX 01 is specifically engineered to combat high external noise, providing a quieter ride than many of its more utilitarian competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

As a hybrid vehicle with a 1.5L range-extender, the ROX 01 offers some of the lowest running costs in its class for the GCC. In stop-start traffic in major cities like Dubai or Kuwait City, the electric motor handles the bulk of the work, significantly reducing fuel consumption compared to V6 or V8 alternatives. On the highway, the efficient petrol engine takes over to charge the battery, ensuring you never have to wait at a charging station during a cross-country trip. While this is a Chinese spec model, the growing popularity of these advanced hybrids in the UAE means that specialized service centers are becoming increasingly available across the region. Depreciation for high-tech Chinese SUVs is stabilizing as the brands prove their reliability in extreme heat; this 2026 model is expected to hold its value well due to its high power-to-efficiency ratio. Buyers can expect routine service intervals to be straightforward, focusing on standard fluid changes for the small engine and health checks for the electric drivetrain.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure for this SUV is its 467 hp, which delivers immediate torque for effortless overtaking on fast-moving GCC highways. This power is managed by a sophisticated Four Wheel Drive system that adapts to various road surfaces, providing confidence during sudden weather changes or when traversing light off-road terrain. The 0-100 km/h performance is surprisingly brisk for a 7-seat vehicle, ensuring it never feels sluggish even when fully loaded with passengers and luggage. Ground clearance is generous, allowing for easy navigation over speed bumps and uneven surfaces without the risk of underbody damage. Multiple drive modes allow the pilot to choose between pure electric silence for neighborhood driving or maximum combined power for highway cruising. For the adventurous GCC family, this performance translates into a vehicle that is equally at home on a paved mountain road in Ras Al Khaimah as it is in the city.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the ROX 01 VIP is a masterclass in modern family transport, offering 7 seats arranged to maximize legroom and shoulder space. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, designed to bring cabin temperatures down rapidly even after the car has been parked in 45°C heat. Ventilation in the seats is a critical feature for the region, and this VIP trim ensures that both front and middle-row passengers enjoy this luxury. Large windows and a high-quality sunroof create an airy, expansive feel, while the cabin's thermal insulation helps maintain a cool environment with minimal effort from the AC. Storage is plentiful, with various compartments designed for large water bottles and mobile devices. The infotainment system is the centerpiece of the dashboard, offering a high-resolution interface that controls everything from ambient lighting to the advanced audio settings, making long drives between emirates a pleasure for all occupants.

Safety

Safety is a paramount feature of the ROX 01 VIP, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). This includes adaptive cruise control, which is a massive benefit for the long, straight highways connecting the major cities of the GCC. Blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assist provide an extra layer of protection in fast-moving, multi-lane traffic, while the automatic emergency braking system acts as a constant digital co-pilot. The vehicle's structure is built with high-strength steel to provide excellent passive safety, and the 360-degree camera system ensures that there are no blind spots when maneuvering such a large SUV. Stability control and traction management are specifically tuned to handle the unique grip levels found on sand-dusted asphalt. For families, the inclusion of multiple ISOFIX points and a full array of airbags ensures peace of mind on every journey.

The bottom line

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the perfect choice for a tech-forward family in the GCC who wants the power of a sports SUV with the fuel economy of a hybrid. With delivery mileage and a top-tier specification, it represents a smart, future-proof investment in a rapidly evolving market.
