Summary

This 2026 Toyota Prado All Rounder G represents a robust entry into the latest 250-series generation, offering the rare and highly sought-after 2.8L turbo-diesel engine. As a brand-new model in the GCC market, its black exterior is a premier resale choice, perfectly suited for the region's aesthetic preferences and value retention. This specific trim balances essential off-road hardware with modern tech, making it a versatile tool for both desert exploration and urban commuting. For the GCC buyer, the combination of Toyota’s legendary diesel reliability and an extensive local service network makes this a low-risk, high-reward investment for long-term ownership.

This Car vs Other 2026 Prados

As a brand-new model year, this Prado features the latest TNGA-F platform, providing a significant jump in chassis rigidity over previous years. While many regional Prados are delivered with the 2.7L petrol engine, this diesel variant offers superior low-end torque for heavy sand driving and towing. The black finish remains one of the fastest-moving colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring easier resale compared to niche exterior shades.

ALL ROUNDER G vs Lower Trims

The All Rounder G trim sits above the base workhorse specifications by adding essential convenience features like a larger 8-inch infotainment display and the integrated cool box, which is a vital comfort feature for GCC summers. It further distinguishes itself with LED lighting throughout and specialized 18-inch alloy wheels that offer a more premium look without sacrificing the sidewall needed for off-road airing down. Unlike more basic utility trims, this G grade includes a digital instrument cluster and refined fabric upholstery that holds up better under the intense local heat.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado consistently leads competitors like the Mitsubishi Montero Sport and Ford Everest by offering a full-time 4WD system with a Torsen limited-slip center differential as standard. Its 110-litre dual-tank configuration provides a massive range advantage for cross-border trips between the UAE and Oman or long desert expeditions. Additionally, the Prado maintains the highest resale value in its class across the Middle East, supported by a parts supply chain that is unmatched by any rival.

Running Costs & Resale

With a claimed combined fuel consumption of 7.6L/100km, the 2.8L diesel engine is significantly more efficient than its petrol counterparts in heavy GCC traffic. The long-term durability of the 1GD-FTV engine is well-documented, with major service intervals typically every 10,000 km at authorized Toyota centers available in every major city across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Historically, the Prado retains roughly 85-90% of its value after the first three years, making it one of the most financially sound automotive purchases in the region.

Performance & Capability

The diesel engine delivers a massive 500 Nm of torque, which is crucial for maintaining momentum in soft dunes and for a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity. With 221 mm of ground clearance and a selectable low-range transfer case, this vehicle is built for genuine off-road terrain rather than just gravel paths. The new 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for long-distance highway cruising, keeping RPMs low to reduce cabin noise during trips between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five-passenger comfort, featuring a high-efficiency dual-zone air conditioning system specifically calibrated for rapid cooling in temperatures exceeding 45°C. The central refrigerator (cool box) keeps drinks chilled during long summer drives, while the acoustic glass helps insulate the interior from heat and road noise. Wireless smartphone connectivity allows for seamless navigation through the 8-inch touchscreen, essential for navigating growing cities like Dubai and Riyadh.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Downhill Assist Control (DAC) to maintain composure on steep grades. Standard 360-degree sensors and a rear-view camera assist with parking in tight urban environments, while the ladder-frame construction provides a rigid safety cell. The inclusion of front and side curtain airbags ensures all occupants are protected during long-distance highway travel.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a diesel workhorse with modern GCC-spec comforts, this 2026 All Rounder G is the perfect blend of reliability and prestige in the current market.
