Summary

The 2027 iCaur V27 Flagship represents a sophisticated shift for GCC drivers, offering a rugged, boxy aesthetic paired with a highly efficient range-extended electric powertrain (REEV). While rivals often force a choice between pure EV range anxiety and traditional petrol fuel costs, this AWD Flagship trim provides the instant torque of dual electric motors with the long-distance security of a 1.5L range-extender. Its black-on-black presence is a strong choice for the local market, maintaining high resale appeal while effectively hiding the dust of desert weekends. For the modern UAE or Saudi commuter, it delivers a high-tech cabin that stays remarkably cool and quiet even during the peak of summer, making it a standout choice for those transitioning to electrified luxury.

This Car vs Other 2027 iCaur V27s

As a 2027 model, this vehicle is essentially brand new to the GCC market, offering the very latest in Chery's REEV technology. The black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale in the region, providing a sleek, executive look that performs well in the used market. Given its recent entry, the mileage is typically negligible, effectively offering a showroom-fresh experience with the benefit of localized GCC specification for cooling and software.

FLAGSHIP vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim is a significant leap over the Luxury and Performance variants, most notably replacing the standard 34.3 kWh battery with a larger 51.2 kWh unit for extended zero-emission city driving. It also adds a high-fidelity 23-speaker audio system and a 15.4-inch 2.5K display powered by the Snapdragon 8295P chip. GCC-essential features like zero-gravity ventilated seats with a 9-point massage function are exclusive to this top-tier configuration.

V27 vs Segment Rivals

The iCaur V27 competes against the BYD Fangchengbao 5 and the GWM Tank 500 Hi4-T, leading the pack with its unique 'Future-Classic' design language and a focus on electric-first driving. It offers a 600mm wading depth and 224mm ground clearance, which, while not a hardcore rock-crawler like a Wrangler, provides superior on-road refinement and highway overtaking speed for regional travel. Its 1,200 km total combined range is particularly advantageous for long hauls between cities like Dubai and Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low for an SUV of this size, as the REEV system allows for most daily UAE commutes to be handled entirely on electric power. Fuel consumption is only a factor on long highway drives, where the 1.5L generator operates at peak thermal efficiency. As a new brand backed by Chery, the V27 benefits from an expanding authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, though as an early-adopter EV-hybrid, it is expected to follow a depreciation curve similar to other premium Chinese electrified models at roughly 12–15% annually.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor AWD system produces a combined 449 hp and 505 Nm of torque, resulting in a swift 5.9-second 0–100 km/h sprint that makes highway merging effortless. For light off-roading, the V27 features selectable terrain modes and a 'tank turn' function, capable of handling gravel tracks and soft sand dunes with ease. The 1.6-ton towing capacity and 224mm ground clearance ensure it is as practical for weekend adventures as it is for city errands.

Comfort & Cabin

The 'Interstellar Cockpit' is designed around GCC summer requirements, featuring powerful multi-zone climate control and ventilated front seats as standard. The five-seat layout offers a flat floor in the rear, providing genuine adult-sized legroom and a spacious 715-litre boot that expands to 1,818 litres with the seats folded. Acoustic glass and a quiet electric drivetrain ensure the cabin remains a sanctuary from the high-speed wind noise common on regional motorways.

Safety

Safety is a priority for the Flagship trim, which comes equipped with the Falcon 700 ADAS suite, including LiDAR-supported adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring for multi-lane highway safety. The vehicle features seven airbags and a high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid body structure designed to meet stringent global safety standards. Additionally, the 540-degree camera system provides a transparent chassis view, which is invaluable when navigating tight urban parking or rocky desert paths.

The bottom line

This iCaur V27 Flagship is the perfect match for a tech-forward buyer who wants the rugged look of a classic 4x4 without the high fuel bills or the charging constraints of a pure EV.
