Ford Sierra

Introduction

The Ford Sierra was launched in 1982 as a mid-size family car, replacing the long-running Ford Cortina in Europe. Known for its aerodynamic styling, it marked a major shift in Ford’s design language and became one of the brand’s most successful models of the 1980s. The Ford Sierra competed with the Opel Ascona, Volkswagen Passat, and Peugeot 405. The Ascona emphasized German solidity, the Passat offered refinement, and the Peugeot added French styling.
