The Toyota GR GT is the most ambitious and significant performance car Toyota's Gazoo Racing division has ever produced, an upcoming road-legal supercar developed alongside its FIA GT3 racing counterpart and targeting a 2027 launch as the spiritual successor to the legendary Toyota 2000GT and the Lexus LFA. Built around a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout on an all-new aluminium space frame, the GR GT is a two-door coupe with a wheelbase of 2,725 mm and a dramatically low overall height of just 1,195 mm, giving it a wide, planted, and unmistakably purposeful stance. At the heart of the GR GT sits a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a transaxle-integrated single electric motor, delivering a targeted combined system output of 650 PS and more than 850 Nm of torque, making the Toyota GR GT price a gateway to genuine supercar performance developed directly from the track. Three core engineering principles guided the GR GT's entire development: a low centre of gravity, low weight with high rigidity, and an aerodynamics-first design philosophy that shaped every exterior surface, while Toyota's first-ever all-aluminium body frame, combined with carbon fibre reinforced plastic panels, ensures the GR GT achieves the lightweight and structural rigidity its motorsport-bred engineering demands. A top speed in excess of 320 km/h has been targeted, with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres developed exclusively for the GR GT and a new low-mounted double-wishbone suspension system front and rear engineered for linear response from everyday driving through to the absolute limits of performance. With its racing pedigree, hybrid V8 powertrain, and a design language shaped entirely by aerodynamic function, the Toyota GR GT is set to redefine what a Japanese supercar can be when it reaches production in 2027.
