When Mazda classics are mentioned, the MX-5 naturally comes to mind. Yet Mazda’s true engineering boldness is best represented by its long commitment to the Wankel rotary engine—a pursuit that began in the 1960s with the Cosmo and reached its peak in the legendary RX-7. Continuously refined over decades, the rotary became a defining symbol of Mazda’s innovation before production ended with the RX-8 due to tightening emissions regulations and the engine’s often-misunderstood characteristics.
Tomini Classics is proud to present its first rotary-powered automobile: a US-specification Mazda RX-7 with under 14,000 miles from new. Delivered originally in Bunker Hill, Illinois, the car later moved to Canada in 2005, where it remained carefully preserved until our acquisition.
This RX-7 is an exceptionally original, unmodified example with a clean CARFAX, retaining the integrity collectors seek. As untouched rotary cars become increasingly scarce, this represents a rare opportunity to acquire a low-mileage, mechanically sound, and steadily appreciating Japanese performance icon.
