Toyota Coaster LWB HIGH ROOF

Highlights

• 95-litre fuel tank capacity
• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Naturally aspirated 4.2L inline-six diesel engine

Summary

This 2012 Toyota Coaster LWB is a definitive choice for high-capacity transport, offering the mechanical simplicity of the legendary 1HZ diesel engine. With mileage at 105,000 km, this vehicle is exceptionally fresh for its year in the GCC market, where commercial buses often reach these figures within their first three years of service. Its white exterior remains the most practical choice for the region, ensuring maximum heat reflection and strong resale demand. The combination of a long wheelbase and manual transmission makes it a durable workhorse for staff transport, tourism, or school routes. For a GCC buyer, this listing represents a rare opportunity to acquire a low-mileage example of one of the world's most reliable transport platforms.

This Car vs Other 2012 Toyota Coasters

At 105,000 km, this Coaster has been driven significantly less than the typical GCC annual average for commercial vehicles, which often exceeds 40,000 km per year. While many 2012 models on the market have already undergone major engine overhauls or high-wear cycles, this example remains in a prime operational window. The white exterior is the optimal color for local fleet use, providing the best possible value retention and ease of maintenance.

LWB vs Lower Trims

The Long Wheelbase (LWB) trim provides a significant increase in interior volume and stability compared to the standard short wheelbase variant, a crucial factor for multi-passenger comfort on long highway stretches between emirates. This specific LWB configuration is designed for maximum utility, featuring the heavy-duty suspension and enhanced cooling systems necessary for the higher payload capacity. Unlike base-trim models, the LWB version offers improved legroom and aisle space, making it better suited for professional transport services.

Toyota Coaster vs Segment Rivals

The Coaster leads the segment primarily through the durability of its 4.2L naturally aspirated engine, which lacks the complexity of the turbochargers found in the Mitsubishi Rosa, making it easier to maintain in remote areas. Its 95-litre fuel tank offers a superior range for cross-border trips compared to smaller competitors. Toyota's dominant resale value in the GCC remains its greatest advantage over rivals from Nissan or higher-cost European alternatives.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating costs for the 1HZ-powered Coaster are among the lowest in the segment due to its ability to handle various diesel grades and a mechanical injection system that simplifies repairs. Real-world fuel consumption typically ranges between 10.5L and 13.8L per 100km depending on the passenger load and AC usage. The Toyota badge ensures the slowest depreciation rate in the UAE and Saudi markets, with parts available in almost every major city across the GCC. Standard service intervals of 5,000 km ensure the longevity of the 6-cylinder powerplant.

Performance & Capability

The 4.2-litre engine produces a reliable 135 horsepower, but its true strength lies in the 285 Nm of torque delivered at low RPM, allowing for smooth standing starts even with a full passenger load. The rear-wheel-drive layout and manual transmission provide the driver with total control over power delivery, which is essential when navigating the varying elevations of the GCC's highway network. A 14.4-meter turning circle ensures that despite its nearly 7-meter length, it remains maneuverable in urban environments and hotel drop-off points.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Coaster is configured for 9+ passengers with a focus on durability, featuring hard-wearing materials that withstand high-frequency use. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the GCC's extreme heat, with high-output blowers and distributed vents to ensure rear-seat passengers stay cool during mid-summer drives. The long wheelbase design significantly reduces road noise and vibration compared to shorter buses, providing a more professional environment for staff or guests.

Safety

Safety is managed through a robust chassis design and essential driver aids including ABS for controlled braking under load. The vehicle features a large greenhouse for excellent driver visibility, green-tinted windows to reduce glare, and an emergency exit system as standard. The mechanical simplicity of the braking and steering systems ensures consistent performance even in the high-dust environments common across the region.

The bottom line

This is a rare, low-mileage 1HZ Coaster perfectly suited for a GCC business looking for a turnkey transport solution with maximum reliability and the region's best resale profile.
