Highlights

• 4,455 kg maximum payload capacity
• 136-litre fuel tank standard
• Naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V8 engine

Summary

This GCC-spec heavy-duty pickup represents a rare find in the local market, offering the indestructible 6.0-liter Vortec V8 in a sought-after black finish that maintains high resale appeal across the region. With 180,000 km on the clock, this workhorse is just entering its prime, given the higher-than-average annual distances typical of GCC highway driving. The Silverado 3500 stands out for its massive payload capability and mechanical simplicity, making it a favorite for desert support and long-haul towing between Emirates. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, the combination of a robust cooling system and a massive fuel tank makes this a reliable choice for the harshest summer conditions.

This Car vs Other 2013 Silverados

At 180,000 km, this Silverado has averaged roughly 16,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 25,000 km for heavy-duty trucks. While many Silverados from this era are imported American specs, this genuine GCC-spec unit features the factory-upgraded cooling system and dust filtration essential for the region's climate. The black exterior is a high-demand resale color in the Middle East, ensuring better value retention compared to less common shades.

3500 EXT/CAB vs Lower Trims

The 3500 HD trim is built on a significantly reinforced frame compared to the 1500 and 2500 series, offering nearly double the payload capacity of its lighter siblings. This Extended Cab configuration provides additional secure interior storage or occasional seating while maintaining a longer bed length for maximum utility. Choosing the 3500 also grants access to a heavy-duty cooling package and an integrated trailer brake controller, features that are often optional or unavailable on lower trims.

Silverado vs Segment Rivals

Against the Ford F-350 and Ram 3500, the Silverado is often preferred in the GCC for its Vortec V8's reputation for long-term reliability and lower maintenance costs. Its 136-litre fuel tank offers a superior cruising range for cross-border trips compared to standard tanks found in many light-duty rivals. The GM heavy-duty platform is also widely recognized by independent garages across the UAE and Oman, ensuring easier parts sourcing than more specialized competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.0L V8 typically averages around 22L/100km in GCC stop-start traffic, though this improves on the open highway. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, and Chevrolet's authorized service network is extensive across all major GCC cities including Dubai, Riyadh, and Kuwait City. This model benefits from a slower depreciation curve than European pickups, typically losing only 8-10% of its value annually in the current used market.

Performance & Capability

The 403 hp Vortec engine provides consistent, high-torque performance that is ideal for overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11. With a massive payload capacity of over 4,400 kg, this truck is designed for serious hauling without compromising stability. The All-Wheel Drive system ensures reliable traction on sand-blown tarmac and graded desert tracks, while the heavy-duty automatic transmission is specifically tuned for high-ambient temperature operation.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance endurance, featuring a high-output air conditioning system that is famously effective during the peak GCC summer. The five-seat layout offers ample shoulder room, and the extended cab doors open wide to allow for easy loading of gear behind the front seats. Despite its rugged exterior, the interior is well-insulated from road noise, providing a comfortable environment for multi-hour drives across the desert.

Safety

Standard safety features include StabiliTrak with Proactive Roll Avoidance, which is vital for maintaining control during sudden maneuvers on high-speed highways. The 3500 is equipped with heavy-duty anti-lock disc brakes on all four wheels and a comprehensive airbag suite. For GCC drivers, the large trailering mirrors provide excellent visibility in fast-moving multi-lane traffic, while the reinforced steel safety cage offers peace of mind during heavy-duty operations.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Silverado 3500 is the ideal choice for a buyer needing maximum towing power and proven regional durability in a well-maintained, high-resale color package.
