Summary

This 2014 Aston Martin Rapide S represents the peak of the model's evolution, offering a significant power increase over the original Rapide. With its hand-assembled V12 and striking white exterior—a high-demand color for resale in the UAE—it balances supercar performance with four-door practicality. The 82,000 km mileage is notably below the GCC average for a ten-year-old vehicle, indicating careful ownership. Unlike rivals that rely on smaller turbocharged engines, this Rapide S retains the soulful character of a naturally aspirated V12. For a GCC buyer, the combination of a regional-spec cooling system and the prestige of the 'S' badge makes this a standout grand tourer.

This Car vs Other 2014 Rapide Ss

With 82,000 km on the odometer, this example has averaged just 8,200 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000 km annual average seen in the GCC market. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering the best heat reflection and the strongest historical resale value. Being a GCC-spec model, it ensures full compatibility with local service centers and regional climate requirements.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Rapide S replaced the standard Rapide for the 2014 model year, introducing the AM11 engine that provides an 80 hp boost over the previous generation. This trim includes the fourth-generation Adaptive Damping System (ADS) with three distinct modes—Normal, Sport, and Track—allowing for immediate adjustment to Dubai's varied road surfaces. Inside, it features a higher grade of Bridge of Weir leather and the iconic crystal 'Emotion Control Unit' key.

Rapide S vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Porsche Panamera Turbo or Maserati Quattroporte offer four seats, the Rapide S leads in aesthetic purity and engine soul with its naturally aspirated V12. Its 90-litre fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance cruising across the Emirates, offering a longer range between stops than many smaller-capacity competitors. The 'swan-wing' doors are not just for show; they open at a 12-degree upward angle to clear high GCC kerbs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 14.3 L/100km, though city driving in heavy Riyadh or Dubai traffic will see higher figures. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km or 12 months at authorized centers like Al Masaood or Habtoor Motors, ensuring the digital service record remains impeccable. As a late-model V12, the Rapide S holds its value better than the early 470 hp models, benefiting from the growing collector interest in naturally aspirated Aston Martins.

Performance & Capability

The 560 hp V12 engine delivers a top speed of 306 km/h, making it one of the fastest four-door cars of its era. The rear-mid-mounted transaxle results in a near-perfect weight distribution, providing agility that belies its 5-meter length. On the highway, the massive 620 Nm of torque ensures effortless overtaking at any speed, while the active exhaust bypass valves provide a muted burble at cruise and a sharp V12 howl under hard acceleration.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a four-seat environment crafted with hand-stitched leather and genuine wood or carbon fiber inlays. For the GCC climate, the Rapide S features a powerful climate control system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers remain cool during summer months. The 317-litre boot is surprisingly versatile for a grand tourer, and the rear seats can fold flat at the touch of a button to expand capacity to 750 litres for weekend trips to Salalah or Ras Al Khaimah.

Safety

Standard safety features include high-performance dual-cast braking systems with six-piston calipers for immense stopping power. The car is equipped with a comprehensive airbag suite and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) tuned specifically for high-speed grand touring. Front and rear parking sensors are standard, providing essential assistance when navigating tighter urban parking structures in major GCC cities.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Rapide S is the ideal choice for the enthusiast who needs four-door versatility but refuses to settle for anything less than a hand-built British V12. Its low mileage and desirable color make it one of the most compelling luxury grand tourers currently available in the region.
