Summary

This 2014 Maserati Ghibli S Q4 is a compelling opportunity for those seeking Italian soul with low-mileage reliability, showing just 63,000 km over its 12-year life. While its rivals can feel clinical, the Ghibli stands out with a Ferrari-engineered heart and an exhaust note that remains a benchmark in the executive sedan segment. Its Brown exterior is a sophisticated, heat-resilient choice for the GCC climate that maintains a niche but loyal resale appeal. The S Q4 trim provides a significant performance leap and a more driver-focused experience than the base model, making it the preferred choice for enthusiasts. For a long-term GCC owner, the key is strictly following the 12,500 km service intervals to ensure the sophisticated twin-turbo powertrain handles local summer heat with ease.

This Car vs Other 2014 Ghiblis

With just over 5,000 km driven per year, this Ghibli has seen significantly less road time than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for GCC-based executive sedans. This low mileage is a major mechanical advantage, preserving the life of the Ferrari-built engine and the high-grade leather interior. The Brown finish is a classy alternative to the standard monochrome palette, offering better dust camouflage and heat rejection for the region.

S Q4 vs Lower Trims

The S Q4 is the high-performance apex of the 2014 lineup, adding a sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system that the base model lacks. It receives a more aggressive turbocharger tune, pushing output to 430 hp, and includes a standard sunroof, which was optional on the entry-level car. Inside, S Q4 models typically feature upgraded Poltrona Frau leather and a dedicated Sport mode that sharpens gear shifts and opens exhaust baffles for an visceral driving experience.

Ghibli vs Segment Rivals

While the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class lead in utility, the Ghibli offers a level of rarity and mechanical theater they cannot match. Its Ferrari-derived engine provides a higher redline and more characterful power delivery, and its 80-litre fuel tank is perfectly sized for long stretches between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Maserati’s aesthetic approach ensures this car still looks more contemporary than its 2014-era German competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the S Q4 typically averages around 10.5 L/100km on modern highways, though heavy-footed city driving in stop-start traffic will see this increase. Maserati has a well-established authorized service network across the UAE and larger Saudi cities, though specialist parts can have longer lead times than mass-market brands. While luxury Italian sedans depreciate faster than Japanese rivals, the S Q4 trim holds its value better due to its status as the most desirable powertrain of its generation.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 4.8-second 0–100 km/h sprint, enabled by a rear-biased Q4 AWD system that can send 50% of torque to the front wheels in milliseconds if it detects slip. This setup makes it an exceptionally safe and stable highway cruiser even during rare winter rain or sand-covered road conditions. The 285 km/h top speed ensures effortless overtaking at the edge of local speed limits, while the ZF 8-speed automatic remains one of the fastest and smoothest gearboxes of its era.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seater masterclass in Italian craftsmanship, featuring a driver-centric cockpit and a high-resolution 8.4-inch Maserati Touch Control system. To combat the GCC summer, the powerful air conditioning system is supplemented by rear-seat vents to keep all passengers comfortable. Cabin insulation is robust, effectively muting road noise while allowing just enough of the V6's acoustic signature into the cabin to remind you of its heritage.

Safety

This trim includes a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and is equipped with seven airbags as standard. For GCC highways, the standard Electronic Stability Control and high-performance Brembo braking system provide critical confidence at high speeds. The inclusion of a mechanical limited-slip differential on top of the electronic AWD system ensures maximum mechanical grip on various surfaces, from smooth tarmac to coastal gravel.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a professional who wants the prestige and sound of an exotic car in a usable daily sedan. Its low mileage and top-tier S Q4 specification make it the sharpest value entry into Maserati ownership in the current GCC market.
