• 72-litre fuel tank
• Ventilated front seats standard

Summary

This 2015 Lexus RX350 represents the final production year of the highly successful third generation, a model year typically sought after for having the fewest mechanical revisions. While its mileage reflects a consistent life on the road, these V6 powertrains are legendary in the GCC for their ability to cross the 300,000 km mark with routine maintenance. As a Premier Plus trim, it bridges the gap between everyday utility and executive comfort, offering features usually reserved for flagship sedans. Blue is a distinctive choice in a market dominated by white and silver, providing a premium aesthetic without the typical upkeep of darker shades. For a GCC buyer, this is a chance to own one of the segment's most reliable luxury cruisers at a balanced entry point.

This Car vs Other 2015 RX350s

With 180,000 km on the clock, this RX350 sits right at the average for a decade-old vehicle in the GCC, where 20,000 km per year is the standard for highway commuting between emirates. Being a 2015 model, it benefits from the final refinements of its generation, often making it more desirable than earlier 2013 or 2014 versions. The Blue exterior provides a unique character that stands out in Dubai traffic while maintaining the high resale demand associated with the Lexus brand.

PREMIER PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Premier Plus trim significantly elevates the cabin experience over the standard Premium grade by adding ventilated front seats, which are essential for staying comfortable during the peak GCC summer months. It also upgrades the tech suite with a larger navigation display and a premium 12-speaker audio system, providing much better sound insulation and entertainment for long desert drives. You also get the convenience of a power-operated liftgate and driver memory settings that aren't always standard on lower US-spec imports.

RX350 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the BMW X5 or Audi Q5 from the same year, the RX350 leads in long-term reliability and the simplicity of its naturally aspirated V6. While German competitors often require specialized sensors and complex turbo maintenance, the Lexus uses a 72-litre fuel tank and a proven 6-speed automatic transmission designed for durability. It offers a softer, more compliant ride quality that is better suited for the long, straight highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Lexus maintains some of the strongest value retention in the GCC used market, typically depreciating at a much slower rate than its European counterparts. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.7 L/100km, which is competitive for a V6 SUV during highway cruising between cities. As an American spec vehicle, buyers should ensure service is performed at reputable specialist centers, though parts availability is excellent across the UAE due to the model's massive popularity. Routine service intervals are standard at every 10,000 km.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L V6 produces a smooth 274 hp, allowing the RX350 to reach 100 km/h in approximately 8 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The electronically controlled transmission is tuned for refinement rather than aggressive shifts, ensuring a quiet cabin even at cruising speeds. While designed primarily for the road, its ground clearance allows for easy navigation of gravel paths and light desert terrain during weekend outings.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a hallmark of Lexus craftsmanship, featuring a 5-seat layout with generous legroom for rear passengers and a flat floor for center-seat comfort. The dual-zone climate control is supplemented by rear vents to ensure all passengers remain cool in temperatures exceeding 45°C. High-quality leather upholstery and acoustic glass help isolate the cabin from road noise, making it one of the quietest SUVs in its class for long-distance travel.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the Premier Plus trim includes a comprehensive 10-airbag system and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to maintain traction on sandy or rain-slicked roads. It features a rearview camera and parking sensors to assist in tight city parking, along with Blind Spot Monitoring which is highly effective for multi-lane highway driving. The 2015 model also earned top marks in side-impact and roof-strength crash testing, reinforcing its reputation as a safe family vehicle.

The bottom line

This RX350 Premier Plus is the ideal choice for a buyer seeking the ultimate balance of Japanese reliability and luxury features in a final-year generation model. It offers a high-spec cabin and a bulletproof powertrain that is perfectly suited for the demands of GCC daily driving.
