Summary

This 2009 Lexus LX570 represents a rare opportunity to own a legendary GCC workhorse that has aged with incredible grace. With its gold exterior—a highly sought-after shade for heat reflection and resale in this region—it stands as a durable alternative to newer, more complex SUVs. The 5.7L V8 provides effortless torque for both desert dunes and long highway hauls between emirates, a feat few modern engines match for reliability. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle the intense summer temperatures with superior cooling systems. For the buyer seeking a blend of high-status luxury and bulletproof mechanical longevity, this listing is a standout choice in the pre-owned market.

This Car vs Other 2009 LX570s

At 243,000 km, this LX570 has been driven approximately 16,000 km per year, which is significantly below the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km for large SUVs. The gold exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering excellent heat rejection and consistently high demand in the used market. Its GCC specification ensures that all rubber components and cooling systems are optimized for the local environment compared to imported North American or Japanese units.

TOP vs Lower Trims

The TOP trim adds critical luxury and utility features that lower grades lack, including the 19-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound system and a factory-integrated cool box in the center console. It also includes the Wide-View Front and Side Monitor system, which is essential for parking such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces. Most importantly for the GCC climate, this trim features ventilated front seats and a four-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser VXR, the LX570 offers a vastly superior cabin with higher-grade leather and better sound insulation from road and wind noise. Against the Range Rover Vogue of the same era, the Lexus leads decisively in long-term reliability and parts availability across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Its 138-liter dual fuel tank system provides a cruising range that few European competitors can match, making it the preferred choice for cross-border GCC road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The LX570 is famous for having some of the highest value retention rates in the GCC, typically depreciating at a much slower 8-10% annually compared to 15% for its European rivals. While the 5.7L V8 is thirsty—averaging approximately 15-19 L/100km in mixed GCC driving—it runs reliably on 95 or 98 octane fuel available at every station. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the region via Al Futtaim and similar distributors, maintenance is straightforward and parts are always in stock.

Performance & Capability

The 381 hp V8 engine delivers a massive 546 Nm of torque, allowing this three-tonne SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 7 seconds. It is equipped with a full-time 4WD system and a low-range transfer case, paired with Lexus's Active Height Control (AHC) that can raise the vehicle for deep sand or lower it for highway stability. Whether you are navigating the Liwa dunes or overtaking on the E11, the power delivery is smooth and immediate.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of eight seats, with a power-folding third row that creates a flat loading floor when needed. High-quality wood trim and soft-touch leather define the interior, while the acoustic glass keeps the cabin remarkably quiet even at high highway speeds. The climate control system is one of the most powerful in the industry, designed specifically to pull down cabin temperatures from 50°C to 20°C in minutes.

Safety

Safety is managed by 10 airbags and the Lexus Pre-Collision System, which was ahead of its time for 2009. The Multi-Terrain ABS is specifically tuned to reduce stopping distances on loose surfaces like sand and gravel. Standard stability control and Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) provide essential support during sudden maneuvers on fast-moving UAE highways.

The bottom line

This LX570 is the perfect match for a family or enthusiast who values mechanical durability and GCC-proven luxury over modern gadgets. It remains the benchmark for a vehicle that can survive the desert and arrive at a five-hotel hotel with equal poise.
