Summary

This 2016 King Long is a rare find in the GCC market, showing exceptionally low mileage for a commercial vehicle of its age. Typically used for high-intensity logistics, this specific van has covered just 3,100 km per year, leaving it in mechanical condition far beyond its rivals. The 2.4-petrol engine is a robust choice for the region, offering simpler maintenance than modern turbos while handling the UAE's summer heat with ease. With its functional white exterior—the most sought-after color for resale—this workhorse is ready to join a fleet or start a new business venture immediately. It stands as a durable, cost-effective alternative to more expensive Japanese vans without sacrificing local service support.

This Car vs Other 2016 King Longs

With just 31,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the 200,000 km typical for a 10-year-old commercial van in the GCC. This low usage is a major advantage for long-term reliability and engine health. The white paint remains the standard choice for local businesses, ensuring the best possible resale value and heat reflection during the summer months.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim provides the essential tools for GCC commercial operations, including a reinforced cooling system designed for high-ambient temperatures. It features a three-seat front bench configuration, maximizing utility for crew transport compared to basic two-seat panel versions. You also benefit from integrated safety features like ABS and front fog lamps that are often omitted on entry-level fleet specifications.

King Long vs Segment Rivals

The King Long is positioned as a high-value alternative to the Toyota Hiace and Nissan Urvan, offering similar cargo dimensions at a much lower entry price. It leads in pure cost-per-kilometer efficiency for startups, while its 2.4-litre powertrain provides the torque needed for full-payload deliveries on UAE highways. Unlike smaller city vans, this mid-size body offers superior stability and presence during inter-emirate trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.4 petrol engine is designed for long-term durability with a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 12.5 L/100km, making it suitable for long-distance highway hauls between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Authorized service centers are widely available through Al Ghurair Motors in the UAE and Domasco in Qatar, ensuring parts are affordable and easy to source. While it depreciates faster than Japanese rivals, the low initial investment and minimal mileage on this unit offer a very competitive total cost of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The 137 hp engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, giving the driver full control over power delivery when merging onto fast-moving multi-lane roads. A 70-litre fuel tank ensures significant range, reducing downtime for refueling during busy delivery schedules. Its front-wheel-drive layout provides predictable handling in urban traffic, while the suspension is tuned to remain composed even when the cargo area is at its maximum payload.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the professional driver, featuring a powerful air conditioning system that is essential for maintaining productivity during the GCC summer. The three-abreast seating includes ergonomic support for long shifts, and the grey interior trim is chosen for its ability to hide the wear and tear of daily commercial use. Large side mirrors and an elevated driving position provide the visibility required for navigating tight logistics hubs and loading zones.

Safety

Safety is managed by a standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which is critical for maintaining steering control during emergency stops on sandy or wet road surfaces. The vehicle is built with a reinforced body structure to protect occupants in the event of a collision. Front and rear fog lights are included to improve visibility during the early morning fog common in the UAE's winter months, providing an extra layer of security for early-shift drivers.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a UAE business owner to acquire a nearly-new workhorse at a fraction of the cost of a new model. Its incredibly low mileage and GCC-ready spec make it the most sensible value-for-money commercial listing currently on the market.
