Nissan Pick Up STANDARD Double Cab GCC Specs

Highlights

• Body-on-frame construction
• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2016 Nissan Pick Up is a pure mechanical workhorse designed for the most demanding GCC environments. While many modern trucks have shifted toward lifestyle features, this model retains the rugged D22 chassis celebrated for its durability and ease of repair. As a GCC-spec vehicle in the classic white finish, it offers the best possible resale stability for the local market. The 2.4-litre petrol engine and manual gearbox combination is a favorite among local owners for its bulletproof reliability in extreme heat. If you need a truck that prioritizes utility and low-cost maintenance over bells and whistles, this is the region's gold standard.

This Car vs Other 2016 Pick Ups

At 329,000 km, this vehicle reflects the heavy-duty life typical of commercial workhorses in the GCC, where annual mileage often exceeds 40,000 km. While the odometer is higher than a passenger car, these engines are built for high-cycle use and long-distance desert transit. The white exterior is the most practical choice for our climate, significantly aiding cabin cooling and future resale value.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim on this D22-generation pickup focuses on the essentials of utility, providing the full 5-seater double-cab configuration that isn't available on basic single-cab chassis versions. Unlike the base stripped-out fleet variants, this trim includes a factory air conditioning system optimized for the Middle Eastern summer and power steering to manage heavy payloads with ease.

Pick Up vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Pickup is often cross-shopped with the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max. It stands out in the GCC for having one of the most accessible parts networks in the region, with components available in almost every industrial area from Dubai to Salalah. While rivals might offer more cabin tech, the Nissan's mechanical simplicity makes it the preferred choice for remote work and high-heat reliability.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 2.4L petrol engine typically ranges between 12.7 and 13.1 L/100km, reflecting its role as a high-torque utility vehicle. Maintenance costs are among the lowest in the segment due to the widespread availability of both genuine and high-quality OEM parts across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This model depreciates significantly slower than European or American rivals, making it a safe asset for small businesses.

Performance & Capability

The 2.4-litre inline-4 produces 160 hp, providing steady torque delivery that is essential for hauling gear across sandy tracks or industrial sites. Its rear-wheel-drive layout and manual transmission allow the driver full control over the power band, which is particularly useful when climbing inclines or navigating soft gravel. The D22's legendary high ground clearance ensures it clears obstacles that would ground more road-biased crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The double-cab layout provides genuine 5-seat capacity, making it versatile enough to double as a crew transport during the day and a family vehicle in the evening. The interior is finished with durable materials designed to withstand the dust and high UV exposure common in the region. A high-output air conditioning system is a standard feature, ensuring the cabin remains comfortable even when outside temperatures exceed 45°C.

Safety

Safety features on the Standard trim include essential active and passive systems like reinforced side-impact beams and a high-strength chassis. The manual gearbox and responsive braking system provide the tactile control needed for safe operation under load. Standard seatbelts for all five occupants and large side mirrors for improved visibility in fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic are included.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to acquire the region's most trusted mechanical workhorse in its most desirable GCC-spec configuration.
