Summary

This 2017 Ferrari 488 Spider represents a standout acquisition in the GCC market, combining Ferrari's iconic Rosso Corsa aesthetic with a highly desirable mid-engine turbocharged V8. With 35,000 km, this example has been driven sparingly, well below the region's typical high-mileage thresholds, preserving its mechanical integrity and resale strength. The 488 Spider is widely regarded for its perfect balance of daily usability and track-level performance, featuring a Retractable Hard Top that adapts to the UAE's seasonal shifts in seconds. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it offers the essential cooling and electronics configurations required to maintain peak performance during extreme summer temperatures. For the discerning buyer, this listing offers a meticulously maintained entry into the modern turbocharged era of Maranello's V8 legacy.

This Car vs Other 2017 488 Spiders

At 35,000 km, this 488 Spider has averaged approximately 5,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000 km. This lower usage pattern is a major advantage for resale value in the Emirates, where low-mileage exotic cars command a premium. The classic red exterior remains the most sought-after and stable color for Ferrari resale across all Gulf markets.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The 488 Spider is the dedicated open-top variant of the 488 platform, featuring the innovative Retractable Hard Top (RHT) that is 25kg lighter than traditional folding fabric roofs. While 'Standard' serves as the base trim, this specific GCC vehicle includes essential high-performance equipment like Carbon Ceramic brakes and the Side Slip Control 2 (SSC2) system as standard. These features ensure the car remains stable and responsive during high-speed highway drives or spirited weekend runs through the Hajar Mountains.

488 Spider vs Segment Rivals

The 488 Spider leads rivals like the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder and McLaren 720S Spider with its sophisticated Variable Torque Management, which delivers power more progressively across the rev range. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides a superior touring range for long-distance drives between Dubai and Muscat compared to more track-focused competitors. Furthermore, Ferrari's extensive authorized service network in the UAE and Saudi Arabia offers better long-term support than many boutique supercar brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 488 Spider is approximately 12.9 L/100km combined, though GCC city traffic may see figures closer to 18 L/100km. Maintenance follows an annual cadence rather than a mileage trigger, with authorized centers in all major GCC cities ensuring parts availability. This model has historically shown strong value retention, typically depreciating at a lower rate than its British or German rivals due to the high local demand for mid-engine Ferraris.

Performance & Capability

Propelled by a 3.9L twin-turbo V8, the 488 Spider produces 661 horsepower and a staggering 760 Nm of torque at just 3,000 rpm. This torque-rich delivery makes highway overtaking effortless on the E11, while the 0–100 km/h sprint of 3.0 seconds ensures it remains at the top of the performance hierarchy. The chassis is specifically tuned for GCC roads, offering a sophisticated magnetic suspension that balances high-speed stability with the comfort required for city commuting.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a driver-focused cockpit featuring two leather-appointed sport seats and a steering wheel that consolidates all major driving controls, including the Manettino dial. The air conditioning system is exceptionally robust, designed to cool the compact two-seat cabin rapidly even in 45°C heat. Despite its performance focus, the 488 offers a 230-litre front trunk, providing enough cargo space for a weekend road trip or luxury shopping excursions.

Safety

Safety is managed by Ferrari's advanced electronic suite, featuring E-Diff3, F1-Trac, and a high-performance ABS/EBD system with 'Ferrari Pre-Fill' to reduce braking reaction times. Standard safety features include front and side-impact airbags, tire pressure monitoring, and electronic stability control specifically calibrated for rear-wheel-drive dynamics. These systems are particularly vital for maintaining control on sandy or high-temperature road surfaces common in the Gulf.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec 488 Spider is the ideal choice for a collector or enthusiast seeking the definitive modern Ferrari experience with low mileage and excellent regional service history.
