• Naturally aspirated 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine
• Selectable All Wheel Drive with low-range transfer case

Summary

This GCC-spec pickup offers the ideal balance of mechanical simplicity and modern utility, featuring the sought-after naturally aspirated V8 engine that regional buyers prefer for its long-term durability. The XLT Sport package gives the truck a contemporary look with body-colored bumpers and a center console shifter, distinguishing it from base work trucks. While the mileage reflects active use, it remains well within the typical range for a GCC-owned truck of this age, where highway distances are standard. Its Blue exterior is a vibrant alternative to the usual monochromatic fleet, offering solid curb appeal without sacrificing resale interest. For a buyer needing a dependable tool for both heavy-duty desert weekends and reliable daily commuting, this F-150 is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2017 F-150s

With 145,000 km, this truck sits at a very common mileage point for a seven-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where the annual average often reaches 25,000 km due to inter-emirate travel. The Blue paint is a refreshing and distinctive choice that holds up well against the sun while remaining a popular retail color. Unlike many imported American-spec units on the market, this is a genuine GCC model, ensuring the cooling systems and radio frequencies are perfectly calibrated for local use.

XLT CREW CAB SPORT PK vs Lower Trims

The XLT Sport package significantly upgrades the cabin experience by replacing the standard front bench with bucket seats and a dedicated center console featuring a floor-mounted shifter. On the exterior, it deletes the chrome in favor of body-colored bumpers and a unique grille, giving it a much more aggressive and premium appearance than the base XL or standard XLT models. You also benefit from the larger Sync 3 infotainment screen and improved interior materials over the entry-level work-focused trims.

F-150 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Chevrolet Silverado and RAM 1500, the F-150 leads with its lightweight aluminum-alloy body, which helps maintain agility despite its massive V8 power. The Ford's naturally aspirated 5.0L engine is often preferred by GCC mechanics over rival small-displacement turbo engines for its ease of maintenance and resistance to high-heat stress. Additionally, the flat-loading rear floor in the SuperCrew cab offers class-leading interior cargo versatility that competitors struggle to match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L V8 typically averages around 13-15 L/100km, which is efficient for an 8-cylinder truck during long highway cruises across the UAE or Saudi Arabia. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km at authorized centers like Al Tayer or Al Jazirah, which are widely available across the region, ensuring parts are never hard to find. The F-150 maintains one of the strongest residual values in the pickup segment, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European SUV counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 385 hp V8 engine provides a robust 525 Nm of torque, enabling a maximum braked towing capacity of 4,581 kg, making it perfect for hauling boats or trailers. Equipped with a selectable all-wheel-drive system and a true low-range transfer case, this truck is fully capable of tackling soft sand and desert dunes with ease. On the highway, the 6-speed automatic transmission delivers smooth power, allowing for confident overtaking even when the bed is fully loaded.

Comfort & Cabin

The SuperCrew configuration provides massive legroom in the rear, comfortably seating five adults for long-distance road trips between cities. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the GCC, providing rapid cabin cooling even when outside temperatures exceed 45°C. With the Sport package's upgraded seats and the intuitive Sync 3 interface, the interior feels more like a modern SUV than a traditional work vehicle, providing a quiet and refined environment at highway speeds.

Safety

This F-150 is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Curve Control, which helps slow the vehicle down if it senses you are entering a turn too quickly. Standard features include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and a rearview camera with hitch assist to make trailer connections simple. The high-strength steel frame provides a solid safety foundation, which earned this generation top marks in NHTSA crash testing.

The bottom line

This is a mechanically honest, GCC-spec V8 truck that offers the perfect entry point for someone wanting a reliable, sporty pickup that hasn't been modified for extreme off-roading.
