• Terrain Response 2 system standard

Summary

This 2017 Range Rover Vogue SE represents the flagship of the fourth-generation L405 line, striking a perfect balance between prestige and the refined performance of the 380 hp supercharged V6. With 120,400 km, its mileage is significantly lower than the average expected for a 9-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where highway-heavy commuting typically adds 20,000 km or more annually. The white exterior remains the most sought-after color in the regional used market for its heat-reflecting properties and historically strong resale liquidity. Choosing the Vogue SE trim provides a noticeable step up in cabin technology and material quality compared to the standard Vogue, making it a sophisticated choice for executive use or family travel. For a GCC owner, the robust cooling systems and legendary all-terrain capability ensure absolute comfort and confidence during the peak of the local summer.

This Car vs Other 2017 Range Rovers

At 120,400 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 13,300 km per year, which is well below the GCC market average of 20,000 km. While many 2017 models have crossed the 180,000 km threshold, this example sits in a lower-wear bracket that is highly desirable for long-term ownership. The white paint is the preferred choice in the UAE for heat rejection and maintains the highest resale demand across the emirates.

VOGUE SE vs Lower Trims

The Vogue SE trim adds significant premium features over the standard Vogue, most notably the upgraded Semi-Aniline leather interior and the 825W Meridian Surround Sound system. It also includes ventilated front and rear seats as standard, a critical feature for the GCC climate, along with 21-inch split-spoke alloy wheels and 360-degree surround cameras for easier urban maneuvering.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLS or the Lexus LX 570, the Range Rover offers a superior 900 mm wading depth and a more advanced aluminum monocoque chassis that improves handling and efficiency. Its 105-liter fuel tank is specifically beneficial for long-distance desert highway drives between Dubai and Riyadh, offering a greater touring range than many road-biased luxury SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L supercharged V6 is more fuel-efficient in GCC stop-start traffic than the larger V8 alternatives, averaging approximately 10.7 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 13,000 km or 12 months, and as a GCC-spec model, it is supported by a massive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This generation of Range Rover holds value well in the local market, generally depreciating at a more predictable 12–15% annually compared to European rivals.

Performance & Capability

Delivering 380 hp, this supercharged V6 provides effortless highway overtaking and a 0–100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds. The Terrain Response 2 system automatically adjusts to sand, gravel, or rocky surfaces, making it a genuine dual-purpose vehicle for both executive commutes and weekend desert adventures. With its standard air suspension, the car can reach a maximum ground clearance of nearly 300 mm to navigate challenging terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed for ultimate refinement, featuring four-zone climate control and ventilated seating that ensures all passengers remain cool during the extreme UAE summer. High-speed cabin insulation and acoustic glass significantly reduce wind and road noise during inter-emirate travel. The inclusion of the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system provides modern connectivity and seamless control over vehicle settings.

Safety

Standard safety features on the Vogue SE include blind-spot monitoring and rear traffic detection, which are essential for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane highways of the GCC. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system and advanced stability control specifically tuned for high-speed highway safety and low-traction sand surfaces. Adaptive cruise control and emergency braking further enhance its credentials as a secure family SUV.

The bottom line

This Vogue SE is an ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking the prestige of a flagship Range Rover with below-average mileage and a region-optimized specification. It offers a higher level of interior luxury and tech than standard models while maintaining the lower running costs of the V6 powertrain.
