Summary

This Lexus LX570 Platinum represents the definitive choice for GCC drivers seeking a bulletproof luxury asset that holds its value better than almost any rival. Powered by the legendary 5.7L V8, it offers the mechanical simplicity and durability required for extreme desert heat while providing a cabin refined enough for executive duties. The Platinum trim adds critical luxury features like the 360-degree camera and ventilated seating, which are essential for navigating tight city spaces and staying comfortable during the peak of summer. With a proven track record across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, this SUV is as much a smart financial investment as it is a capable family hauler. It stands out as a rare vehicle that can transition from a dunes weekend to a high-end valet stand without compromise.

This Car vs Other 2017 LX570s

With 135,000 km on the odometer, this LX570 sits comfortably below the typical 160,000–175,000 km average seen for 2017 models in the high-mileage GCC market. The grey exterior is a highly strategic choice for the region, offering a sophisticated look that hides desert dust effectively while maintaining strong resale demand alongside white and silver. This specific example represents a well-preserved balance of age and usage for a vehicle engineered for a 25-year service life.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the LX570 with the 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system and the full Lexus Safety System+ suite as standard. GCC buyers specifically benefit from the added ventilated second-row seats and the larger 21-inch wheels that provide a more commanding presence on the highway. Unlike base variants, the Platinum also includes the head-up display and 360-degree panoramic view monitor, making daily urban driving significantly more manageable.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Range Rover or Cadillac Escalade offer newer infotainment interfaces, the LX570 leads the segment in long-term reliability and mechanical durability under extreme heat. Its naturally aspirated V8 is preferred by GCC owners for its ability to handle lower-grade fuels found in remote areas, and its body-on-frame construction offers superior off-road integrity compared to monocoque competitors. The standard 8-seat configuration also provides more practical family utility than many European alternatives.

Running Costs & Resale

The LX570 is widely recognized for having the strongest value retention in the GCC luxury SUV segment, typically depreciating much slower than its German counterparts. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 15.9L/100km, though this can rise in heavy stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks spanning the entire GCC, ensuring parts are always readily available.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 381 hp 5.7L V8, the LX570 delivers a smooth 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 7.7 seconds, but its true strength lies in its low-end torque for sand driving and highway overtaking. The Active Height Control (AHC) system can raise the vehicle to provide significant ground clearance for tackling deep dunes or steep inclines. Standard hardware includes a Torsen limited-slip center differential and a 5-speed Crawl Control system, acting as an off-road cruise control for the most challenging terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of semi-aniline leather and wood trim, featuring a four-zone Climate Concierge that synchronizes the air conditioning with the ventilated seats and steering wheel. Rear passengers are treated to dual 11.6-inch entertainment screens and dedicated climate vents, essential for family road trips across the emirates. Superior acoustic glass and heavy insulation ensure the interior remains whisper-quiet, even when cruising at high speeds on the E11 highway.

Safety

Standard safety features on the Platinum trim include the Lexus Safety System+, which provides adaptive radar cruise control, lane departure alert, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. The blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are particularly valuable for GCC highway driving, while the 10-airbag system offers comprehensive protection for all three rows. Unlike many rivals, these advanced driver assistance systems are integrated as standard equipment rather than optional extras.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who values mechanical peace of mind and market-leading resale value, this low-mileage Platinum trim LX570 is the most sensible luxury SUV investment currently available.
