Summary

This 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Estate represents a rare opportunity to own the ultimate performance wagon in a market dominated by sedans. Finished in White, the most sought-after resale color in the GCC, this GCC-spec example has covered 115,000 km—a figure that is perfectly average and well-maintained for a high-performance executive car of this age in the region. Unlike the standard E63, the 'S' trim delivers the full 612 hp experience paired with the advanced 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. For the GCC buyer, this model offers the perfect blend of supercar-slaying acceleration and the practical cargo capacity needed for family trips between the Emirates. It is a dual-purpose machine that handles extreme summer temperatures as effortlessly as it does long-distance highway cruises.

This Car vs Other 2017 E63 AMGs

At 115,000 km, this E63 S has seen consistent use typical of a daily-driven executive vehicle in the UAE, where highway-heavy commutes between cities often result in higher mileage than global averages. The White exterior is a significant advantage for local resale, as it remains the top choice for buyers in the GCC used market due to its heat-reflective properties. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it features the reinforced cooling systems and air conditioning units specifically designed to withstand the region's 50°C summer peaks.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim is the definitive version of this car, increasing power from 571 hp to 612 hp and adding the highly sought-after Drift Mode, which allows the 4MATIC+ system to send 100% of torque to the rear wheels. Inside, the S adds Nappa leather across the dashboard and beltlines, a detail highly valued by luxury buyers in the Emirates. It also standardizes the AMG Driver’s Package, lifting the electronic speed limiter to 300 km/h, a feature rarely found on the base E63.

E63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Audi RS6 Avant offer similar wagon practicality, the E63 S leads with a more sophisticated nine-speed MCT transmission and a larger 640-litre boot space with the seats in their standard position. Its 4.0L V8 is widely regarded as having the most aggressive engine character in the segment, providing a visceral soundtrack that competitors often lack. Furthermore, the Mercedes-AMG service network is notably more extensive across Saudi Arabia and Oman compared to smaller boutique performance brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 10.8 L/100km, though this will rise in the stop-start traffic of Downtown Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km or 12 months, with major inspections occurring at the 60,000 km marks to ensure the high-output biturbo system remains healthy. While high-performance European wagons depreciate faster than Japanese luxury sedans, the E63 S Estate maintains a niche enthusiast following in the UAE, helping it retain value better than standard E-Class models.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is the staggering 3.5-second 0–100 km/h sprint, which places this station wagon firmly in supercar territory. The 850 Nm of torque provides effortless highway overtaking, a critical benefit for the fast-moving traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. The AMG Ride Control+ air suspension allows the driver to toggle between a compliant ride for family duties and a rigid, track-focused setup for weekend drives through Jebel Jais.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in executive luxury, featuring a widescreen dual 12.3-inch display that remains a benchmark for the 2017 model year. Standard tri-zone climate control ensures rear passengers remain cool during the peak of summer, while the acoustic glass helps insulate the interior from highway wind noise. The 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats allow for a maximum cargo volume of 1,820 litres, making it as capable of a furniture run as it is a school run.

Safety

Equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, this E63 S includes nine airbags as standard and Mercedes-Benz's advanced Pre-Safe system. Features like blind-spot monitoring and active brake assist are particularly useful on multi-lane GCC highways where high-speed lane changes are frequent. The 4MATIC+ system also provides exceptional stability on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces, ensuring maximum traction in all local weather conditions.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who needs family practicality without sacrificing world-class performance, this GCC-spec E63 S is a rare find in a prime resale color.
