Summary

This Mercedes Benz V 250 AVANTGARDE LWB represents the gold standard for premium group transport in the GCC, offering a level of sophistication that Japanese rivals simply cannot match. With its long-wheelbase configuration and full 8-seat capacity, it serves as the ideal vehicle for high-end hospitality, large families, or executive shuttle services across the Emirates. The blue exterior offers a refreshing and professional alternative to the standard black or white fleets, maintaining excellent curb appeal and resale interest in the local market. Despite its generous proportions, the 2.0L turbocharged engine provides a perfect balance of punchy highway performance and sensible fuel economy for long trips between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. As a GCC-spec model, it comes equipped with the heavy-duty cooling systems required to maintain a pristine cabin temperature even during the peak of the Arabian summer. Choosing a V-Class at this stage of its lifecycle is a strategic move, as these vehicles are renowned for their slow depreciation and enduring status as the premier luxury bus in the region. For the discerning buyer who needs maximum space without sacrificing the prestige of the three-pointed star, this listing offers an exceptional entry point into the premium MPV segment.

This Car vs Other 2017 V 250s

When evaluating this specific unit against other 2017 models in the UAE, the mileage reflects a vehicle that has been consistently utilized for its intended purpose—long-distance cruising. In the GCC, where highway driving dominates, 166,605 km is a standard figure for a multi-purpose vehicle of this age, often indicating that the mechanical components have been kept at optimal operating temperatures rather than suffering the wear of stop-start city congestion. The AVANTGARDE LWB trim is particularly sought after compared to the standard wheelbase versions often found in the used market, providing that crucial extra luggage space behind the third row. The blue paintwork is a significant advantage here; it stands out in a sea of rental-white vans, making it more attractive for private buyers or boutique hotels looking for a distinctive fleet presence. Because this is a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the common pitfalls of imported North American or European models, such as incompatible radio frequencies or insufficient air conditioning condensers. Buyers can proceed with confidence knowing this car was built from the factory to thrive in the heat of the Middle East.

AVANTGARDE LWB vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the AVANTGARDE LWB trim fundamentally changes the interior experience from a functional van to a genuine luxury lounge. While base trims often feature plastic dashboards and basic fabric seating, this version introduces high-quality materials and ambient lighting that mirrors the Mercedes Benz S-Class aesthetic. One of the most critical upgrades for GCC buyers is the inclusion of the high-performance climate control system with additional vents for the rear passengers, ensuring total comfort in all three rows. You also benefit from the Agility Control suspension system, which is absent on lower trims, providing a much smoother ride over the speed bumps and undulations of local suburban roads. The LWB (Long Wheelbase) designation is the real game-changer here, adding significant length to the chassis that translates directly into superior legroom and a massive cargo area. Furthermore, the AVANTGARDE trim typically includes the LED Intelligent Light System, which is invaluable for night driving on unlit desert highways, automatically adjusting to oncoming traffic and curves.

V 250 vs Segment Rivals

The V 250 occupies a unique space in the market, positioned well above common competitors like the Toyota Previa or Honda Odyssey. While Japanese rivals focus on utility and reliability, the V-Class leads the segment in prestige, interior modularity, and high-speed stability. During long drives across the Emirates, the V 250 feels planted and quiet, whereas many competitors can feel susceptible to crosswinds and road noise at 120 km/h. Compared to the Volkswagen Multivan, the Mercedes Benz offers a more recognized luxury brand image that is essential for VIP transport services in Dubai’s hospitality sector. The seat rail system in the V-Class is also more robust and easier to configure than those found in the Kia Carnival, allowing for face-to-face conference seating which is a favorite for executive commuters. Additionally, the Mercedes Benz infotainment and driver assistance systems feel a generation ahead of the more utilitarian cabins found in the luxury versions of the Toyota Hiace.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for a V 250 in the GCC are surprisingly manageable given its premium positioning. The 2.0L petrol engine is designed to run efficiently on 95 or 98 octane fuel, returning excellent highway figures that help offset the costs of daily commuting. Mercedes Benz maintains an extensive service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that genuine parts and expert technicians are always within reach. In terms of depreciation, the V-Class is one of the strongest performers in the luxury segment; it typically retains its value far better than luxury sedans because the demand for high-end group transport remains constant in the region. You can expect an annual depreciation rate of approximately 12-15%, which is very competitive for a European vehicle of this size. Furthermore, the GCC specification ensures that the vehicle retains a higher resale value than 'gray market' imports, as local buyers prioritize the peace of mind that comes with regional cooling and filtration specs.

Performance & Capability

Under the hood, the 190 hp turbocharged engine delivers a smooth and linear power delivery that is perfectly suited to the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. While it isn't a sports car, the 440 Nm of torque ensures that even with a full load of eight passengers and their luggage, the V 250 overtakes with confidence on the E11 highway. The rear-wheel-drive configuration provides a tight turning circle for a vehicle of this length, making it surprisingly easy to maneuver through the tight parking garages of Dubai Mall or downtown office towers. The Agility Control suspension adapts the damping to the road conditions, providing a soft ride during city cruises and firming up for better stability during high-speed transit. Ground clearance is optimized for paved roads, but the vehicle handles the occasional gravel track to a desert farm or beach site with composure. For those who need to haul extra equipment, the V 250 also boasts a respectable towing capacity, further enhancing its versatility as a recreational vehicle.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the AVANTGARDE LWB is a masterclass in spatial design, featuring eight individual seats that can be repositioned to suit any requirement. The cabin is heavily insulated against the extreme exterior heat and wind noise, creating a sanctuary for passengers to conduct business or relax. Leather upholstery and high-gloss wood or carbon-look trim elements elevate the atmosphere, while the dual electric sliding doors provide effortless entry and exit in tight parking spaces. The climate control system is a standout feature, designed to rapidly pull down temperatures from 50°C to a comfortable 22°C, with dedicated controls for the rear compartment. Storage is abundant, with various compartments and cup holders distributed throughout all three rows, catering to the needs of large families on road trips. The Burmester surround sound system, often found in this trim, provides an acoustic experience that rivals luxury saloons, making every journey across the GCC an enjoyable event.

Safety

Safety is where the Mercedes Benz V 250 truly eclipses its rivals, holding a full 5-Star NCAP rating. It comes standard with a comprehensive suite of airbags and structural reinforcements designed to protect all eight occupants. The Crosswind Assist is a particularly vital feature for GCC drivers, as it automatically applies the brakes to individual wheels to keep the van stable during the sudden, heavy gusts common on open desert roads. Attention Assist monitors the driver for signs of fatigue during long, monotonous highway stints, while the Blind Spot Assist is essential for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic of Riyadh or Dubai. The vehicle also features ISOFIX child seat attachment points in the rear, making it one of the safest environments for transporting children. Standard stability control and advanced ABS ensure that even in emergency maneuvers on sandy or wet surfaces, the V 250 remains under total control.

The bottom line

This V 250 AVANTGARDE LWB is the perfect choice for a family or business looking for uncompromising German luxury and massive internal volume. Given its GCC spec and desirable long-wheelbase configuration, this listing represents a rare opportunity to secure a premium multi-purpose vehicle that is ready for immediate heavy-duty use.
