Summary

This 2025 Kia Sportage is a high-value opportunity, offering exceptionally low mileage for a used vehicle in the GCC market. While many regional SUVs rack up high highway kilometers quickly, this unit remains fresh with just 17,000 km on the clock. Its grey exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, ensuring strong resale demand and easier maintenance in dusty conditions. This model stands out by delivering nearly 200 horsepower from a modern turbocharged engine, providing more pep than traditional rivals without the heavy fuel bill. For the GCC buyer, it’s a perfect balance of reliability, modern tech, and long-term value retention.

This Car vs Other 2025 Sportages

With only 17,000 km, this Sportage is well below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, placing it in a prime bracket for used buyers. The grey metallic finish is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, offering a significant advantage for future resale value compared to louder colors. It effectively offers a near-new ownership experience while the initial sharp depreciation of a showroom-fresh car has already been absorbed.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The 2025 Standard trim serves as the entry point but is far from basic, featuring the 1.5L Turbo engine that outclasses the naturally aspirated base units found in previous years. It includes essential GCC-ready features like an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a high-definition rearview camera. Unlike lower-tier imports, this GCC-spec car ensures the air conditioning system is fully optimized for 45°C+ summer peaks.

Sportage vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V, the Sportage leads with its bold, futuristic styling and a more aggressive 197 hp turbocharged output. Its 591-litre boot capacity is one of the most generous in the compact SUV segment, making it better suited for large family grocery runs or weekend trips between Emirates. The 54-litre fuel tank paired with its efficient 1.5T engine ensures fewer stops on long cross-country hauls.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a highlight, averaging around 7.0 L/100km, which helps mitigate costs during heavy stop-start traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Kia boasts one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, KSA, and Oman. As a GCC-spec model, it maintains a value retention rate of approximately 80-85% after its first year, significantly outperforming non-regional imports in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre turbo engine produces a stout 197 hp and 253 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 9 seconds. This power is particularly useful for confident overtaking on high-speed highways like the E11. While its front-wheel-drive setup is tuned for pavement, the 170 mm ground clearance allows it to handle gravel roads and suburban speed humps with total ease. The 8-speed automatic transmission is smooth, ensuring a refined ride during long-distance travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC family life, featuring a spacious five-seat layout with ample legroom for rear passengers. Dedicated rear air conditioning vents are standard, ensuring the back row stays cool during intense summer afternoons. The interior is well-insulated from road noise, and the 60/40 split-folding rear seats allow for flexible cargo configurations. Practical tech like multiple USB ports and a digital instrument cluster keep the driver connected and informed.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with six airbags standard and a suite of active systems including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. The rear parking sensors and camera are vital for navigating tight parking spots in crowded city malls. Its robust electronic stability control is specifically tuned to maintain composure on the sandy or dusty surfaces often encountered on regional roads.

The bottom line

This is the ideal pick for a savvy GCC buyer looking for a modern, tech-forward SUV that still feels like new but comes at a smarter price point. Its low mileage and regional-spec status make it a low-risk, high-reward investment for daily commuting or family duties.
