Summary

This 2018 M4 M Competition represents a refined point in the F82 generation, offering a sharper driving experience than the standard model. With its Blue exterior and low 8-year age, it presents as a highly desirable performance coupe in the local market. The Competition trim is widely favored by GCC buyers for its upgraded suspension and distinctive 20-inch wheels, which help maintain strong resale value. For those seeking a daily-usable sports car that handles the heat of Dubai or Riyadh without missing a beat, this RWD icon remains the segment benchmark. Its combination of aggressive styling and German engineering makes it a standout choice for enthusiasts across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2018 M4s

With 135,000 km over 8 years, this M4 has seen regular use typical of a UAE commuter, where highway driving is the norm. While this mileage is average for the GCC market, the car's Blue finish is a vibrant and sought-after color that typically attracts more attention than standard white or silver examples. Its GCC regional specification ensures that the cooling and air conditioning systems are fully optimized for local summer extremes.

M COMPETITION vs Lower Trims

The M Competition package is a significant upgrade, adding a reconfigured M Adaptive suspension with new springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars for improved turn-in. It also features a sportier M exhaust system and high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim. Inside, GCC buyers appreciate the lightweight M sports seats with woven M-stripe seatbelts, details that elevate the cabin beyond the standard M4.

M4 vs Segment Rivals

The M4 leads rivals like the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe and Audi RS5 with its precise handling and high-revving straight-six character. While competitors often focus on heavy V8 torque, the M4 offers a lighter front end and a more engaging rear-wheel-drive chassis. Its iDrive infotainment system remains one of the most intuitive in the segment for navigating between emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages between 8.3 and 10.1 L/100km depending on driving style, making it relatively efficient for a performance car on long GCC highway runs. Maintenance is well-supported by an extensive network of authorized BMW service centers and specialized German car workshops across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As an M Competition model, it typically retains its value better than the base M4 in the pre-owned market.

Performance & Capability

The M Competition delivers a verified 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.0 seconds, assisted by a rapid-shifting 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. The Active M Differential provides exceptional traction when exiting corners, a feature that shines during track days at the Dubai Autodrome or Yas Marina Circuit. Even with its focus on performance, the adaptive drive modes allow for comfortable cruising on the multi-lane highways connecting major GCC cities.

Comfort & Cabin

The four-seat cabin is designed around the driver, featuring premium leather upholstery and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system for a high-fidelity experience. Dual-zone climate control is standard and built to combat 45°C summer peaks effectively. Despite its coupe silhouette, the rear seats are usable for short trips, and the 445-litre boot provides enough practicality for weekend getaways or golf bags.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive, including BMW's Advanced Airbag System and Dynamic Stability Control specifically tuned for M performance. It features adaptive LED headlights for excellent visibility on dark desert roads and a 360-degree camera system to assist with parking in tight urban spaces. Front and rear parking sensors come as standard to protect the Competition-spec bodywork.

The bottom line

This M4 M Competition is the ideal match for a driver who wants a track-ready coupe that functions perfectly as a stylish daily driver in the GCC. It offers the specific trim upgrades and regional spec that local buyers prioritize for long-term ownership and value.
