Summary

This 2018 Dodge Durango GT is a standout family SUV, particularly given its low mileage of just 58,380 km, which is roughly half the expected average for an 8-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The Grey exterior is highly practical for the region, effectively masking desert dust and maintaining strong resale appeal compared to niche colors. As a GT trim, it bridges the gap between utility and luxury, offering significant cabin upgrades that make it a more premium daily driver than the base SXT. For GCC buyers, the combination of a robust V6 and a massive fuel tank makes it one of the most capable long-distance highway cruisers in its class.

This Car vs Other 2018 Dodge Durangos

With only 58,380 km on the odometer, this Durango has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the UAE. Most 2018 models on the market have surpassed the 150,000 km mark, making this a rare low-mileage opportunity. The Grey paint is a strategic choice for the local climate, as it resists the fading effects of the intense sun better than darker tones.

GT vs Lower Trims

The GT trim offers a substantial step up from the base SXT, adding essential GCC comforts like leather and suede upholstery and a heated steering wheel. It also features a power liftgate, remote engine start for pre-cooling the cabin in summer, and 20-inch wheels that provide a more aggressive stance. Most notably, it upgrades the second row with heating, a feature rarely found in entry-level family crossovers.

Durango vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Ford Explorer or Honda Pilot, the Durango leads with a superior 2,812 kg towing capacity, making it the better choice for hauling jet skis or small trailers. Its 93-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in the segment, providing a significant range advantage for cross-country drives between the Emirates. Unlike many rivals, its unibody construction is paired with a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system, offering a more planted and muscular driving feel on high-speed highways.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is widely regarded as one of the most reliable engines in the region, with parts readily available at authorized service centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It consumes approximately 11.3 L/100km on a combined cycle, which is efficient for a seven-seater of this size in GCC stop-start traffic. Resale value for GCC-spec Durangos remains steady, typically depreciating at a rate of 12-15% annually, outperforming many American-spec imports.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 295 hp V6 engine, this Durango offers smooth power delivery suitable for heavy highway overtaking and confident cruising at 140 km/h. The four-wheel-drive system provides added stability on rain-slicked roads or gravel paths during weekend outings. With its heavy-duty cooling system standard on GCC models, it maintains consistent performance even during the peak of the summer heat.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly flexible, featuring a fold-and-tumble second row that allows easy access to a third row spacious enough for adults. The tri-zone automatic climate control is specifically calibrated for the region, with dedicated vents ensuring the rear passengers stay cool during long midday drives. Acoustic glass and a refined interior keep the cabin remarkably quiet, even at highway speeds.

Safety

This Durango GT comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including a rearview camera and rear parking sensors for navigating tight urban spaces. Standard electronic stability control and trailer sway damping provide peace of mind when fully loaded or towing. Multiple airbags and a 5-star NHTSA side-impact rating ensure high levels of protection for the whole family.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, GCC-spec Durango GT that offers the perfect balance of American muscle styling and practical seven-seat utility for the modern family.
