Summary

This 2018 Ford F-150 Roush Raptor is a standout in the GCC market, combining the legendary off-road capability of the Raptor with exclusive performance upgrades from Roush. As a GCC-spec model, it offers better resale security and local service support than imported variants, while its grey exterior remains one of the most sought-after and resilient colors for maintaining value in the region. With its High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost engine delivering 450 hp, this truck is purpose-built to handle both high-speed desert crossings and refined city commuting in the Emirates. It represents a rare opportunity to own a professionally tuned, terrain-conquering icon that has already proven its durability across 164,000 km of Gulf roads.

This Car vs Other 2018 F-150s

With 164,000 km on the odometer, this F-150 has covered approximately 23,000 km per year, which is perfectly in line with average GCC annual use for a primary highway and weekend vehicle. While standard F-150s of this year serve as reliable workhorses, the Roush Raptor trim ensures it holds a premium position in the used market. The grey exterior is a high-demand, low-heat-absorbent choice that significantly strengthens its resale potential compared to niche colors.

ROUSH RAPTOR vs Lower Trims

The Roush Raptor elevates the standard Raptor's specs with an upgraded ROUSH/FOX 3.0 High-Performance Off-Road Suspension System, featuring externally adjustable bypass circuits for superior compression control. Inside, this trim typically adds exclusive Roush branding and performance-focused cabin touches that are highly valued by GCC enthusiasts. It also includes the full technology suite, including a 360-degree camera and premium audio, which are often optional or missing on lower XLT or Lariat trims.

F-150 vs Segment Rivals

The F-150 Raptor leads rivals like the RAM 1500 Rebel and Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss with its specialized high-output V6 and advanced Baja-ready suspension. Its 136-litre fuel tank capacity is a major advantage for long-distance drives between Dubai and Riyadh, offering superior range over competitors with smaller tanks. Additionally, the Raptor’s wider track and factory-tuned Fox racing shocks provide a level of high-speed desert stability that standard off-road packages from other brands cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

The High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost engine is designed for 95 or 98 octane fuel, returning roughly 14.7 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Ford's extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensures parts and expertise are always accessible, keeping long-term maintenance predictable. As a genuine Roush-enhanced GCC-spec model, it experiences slower depreciation than base V8 trucks, typically retaining strong value at the 5-year+ mark due to its enthusiast appeal.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 450 hp and 691 Nm of torque, this truck manages 0-100 km/h in approximately 5.5 seconds, making it exceptionally quick for its size. The 4WD system features a torque-on-demand transfer case and six Terrain Management modes, allowing it to transition seamlessly from soft sand to wet tarmac. With 13 inches of front suspension travel and heavy-duty skid plates, it is specifically engineered for the demanding desert terrain found throughout the GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat SuperCrew cabin is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring ventilated and heated front seats that are essential for the GCC summer. Dual-zone automatic climate control and dedicated rear vents ensure all passengers stay cool regardless of the outside temperature. The interior is insulated to a high standard, providing a surprisingly quiet highway experience even with aggressive all-terrain tires.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive ADAS suite with Blind Spot Monitoring (BLIS), which is vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways in the UAE. The 360-degree camera system makes parking this wide-body truck effortless in city environments, while AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control provides peace of mind during high-speed maneuvers on gravel or sand. It also features a reinforced high-strength steel frame and multiple airbags for maximum occupant protection.

The bottom line

This Roush Raptor is the ideal choice for a GCC buyer who wants a desert-proven performance truck with the prestige of a professional tuner upgrade and the security of GCC-spec origin.
