Summary

This 2020 Ford F-150 Raptor in the Luxury (LUX) trim offers the perfect balance of specialized desert performance and premium daily comfort. With 110,000 km over six years, the mileage is exactly in line with average GCC highway usage, where these trucks are often utilized for inter-emirate travel. The grey exterior is a highly sought-after resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, holding value significantly better than more eccentric palettes. As a GCC-spec model, it features the heavy-duty cooling systems essential for maintaining performance during extreme summer heat. For the serious buyer, the Raptor remains the undisputed segment leader for high-speed off-road stability thanks to its specialized Fox Racing suspension.

This Car vs Other 2020 F-150s

At 110,000 km, this Raptor has covered approximately 18,300 km per year, which is slightly below the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. While standard F-150s are common, the Raptor is a specialized performance product that experiences much slower depreciation in the local market. The grey finish is particularly resilient to the visible effects of fine desert sand and maintains a strong professional profile for city driving.

RAPTOR CREW CAB LUX vs Lower Trims

The Luxury (LUX) package—often referred to as the 802A equipment group—is the most desired configuration in the GCC. It upgrades the cabin with ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system for easier parking, and a premium B&O Sound System. Unlike the base Raptor, the LUX trim also includes a Torsen front differential and integrated trailer brake controller, enhancing both off-road grip and towing utility.

F-150 vs Segment Rivals

The Raptor primarily competes with the RAM 1500 TRX and the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. While the TRX offers more raw power, the Raptor is significantly lighter, providing a more nimble feel in soft sand dunes. Its 136-liter extended-range fuel tank (standard on SuperCrew) is a major advantage for long-distance desert expeditions compared to smaller tanks found in standard half-ton pickups.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L EcoBoost High-Output engine typically averages between 14–16 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Maintenance is well-supported by an extensive authorized service network including Al Tayer in the UAE and Al Jazirah in KSA. GCC-spec Raptors command a 15–20% price premium over imported American-spec versions due to guaranteed service history and climate-appropriate hardware. Resale value for a well-maintained 2020 Raptor remains exceptionally high, often retaining over 60% of its value after six years.

Performance & Capability

The standout feature is the Fox Racing Shox with Live Valve technology, which provides 13 inches of front travel and 13.9 inches at the rear, allowing for high-speed desert traverses that would damage standard trucks. The 10-speed automatic transmission is tuned to keep the twin turbos in their power band, delivering a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 5.5 seconds. Terrain Management offers six selectable modes, including the famous 'Baja Mode' specifically designed for high-speed sand driving.

Comfort & Cabin

The SuperCrew cabin provides genuine seating for five or six adults with class-leading rear legroom, making it a viable family vehicle for long road trips. Given the GCC climate, the dual-zone climate control and powerful AC system are complemented by ventilated seats that are essential during the summer months. The interior features carbon fiber accents and high-quality leather, ensuring the rugged exterior is matched by a refined driving environment.

Safety

Standard safety on the LUX trim includes Ford Co-Pilot360, featuring Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with trailer coverage and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go is particularly useful for the long, fast-moving highways between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Additionally, the 360-degree camera system provides a 'bird's-eye view' that is invaluable when navigating tight urban parking or checking obstacles during technical off-roading.

The bottom line

This Raptor is the ideal choice for an enthusiast who wants a verified GCC-spec truck that is equally capable of high-speed desert runs and comfortable family commuting. Its combination of the LUX trim and a strong resale color makes it one of the most liquid assets in the regional used truck market.
