Summary

This Infiniti QX50 represents one of the final opportunities to own the sought-after 3.7L V6 powertrain before the model transitioned to smaller turbocharged engines. Its white exterior is the most preferred resale color in the GCC, ensuring strong value retention and better heat reflection during the peak summer months. With All-Wheel Drive and a generous ground clearance, it manages the transition from city highways to weekend gravel paths with ease. For the GCC buyer, this is a refined alternative to the common four-cylinder crossovers, offering a mechanical robustness that is well-suited to long-distance drives across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2018 QX50s

While many 2018 models globally introduced the 2.0L VC-Turbo, the 3.7L V6 remained a staple for GCC buyers who value long-term reliability and the linear power of a naturally aspirated engine. At 121,000 km, this vehicle sits comfortably within the expected mileage range for a GCC-based executive crossover of this age. The white paint remains the gold standard for resale in the local market, providing a distinct advantage over darker or more niche colors.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim significantly enhances the QX50 experience by adding essential luxury features that define the Infiniti brand. Unlike the base models, this trim includes heated leather seating and a premium Bose audio system designed for superior cabin acoustics. It also integrates advanced navigation and a tilt-and-slide moonroof, providing a more airy feel that is highly valued during evening drives in the cooler months.

QX50 vs Segment Rivals

The QX50 stands out against rivals like the Lexus NX and BMW X3 by offering one of the largest naturally aspirated engines in its class. Its 75-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for long highway stretches between Abu Dhabi and Dubai compared to smaller-capacity competitors. While European rivals focus on complex turbocharging, this V6 offers a simpler, high-output mechanical setup that handles the extreme ambient temperatures of the region with less strain.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.7L V6 averages approximately 11.7 L/100km, reflecting its performance-oriented character in GCC traffic. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a wide authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability and straightforward maintenance. Infiniti's V6 models typically experience a depreciation rate of 10-12% annually in the UAE, holding value better than many European luxury counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 328 horsepower delivered by the V6 engine allows for effortless highway overtaking and a 0–100 km/h time of just 6.8 seconds. The All-Wheel Drive system provides consistent traction on the sand-dusted roads often encountered during desert windy seasons. With a top speed of 232 km/h, the QX50 remains composed and quiet at cruising speeds, making it an ideal companion for cross-border regional trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five occupants with a focus on high-quality leather and soft-touch materials that resist the intense GCC sun. Standard rear cooling vents ensure passenger comfort during the summer, while the sliding second row allows you to prioritize legroom or expand the cargo area. The dual-display infotainment system keeps navigation and media controls separate for easier use while driving through busy city centers.

Safety

Safety is managed through a comprehensive suite of active and passive systems, including multiple airbags and stability control tuned for varied road surfaces. Standard features on this trim include a rearview monitor and parking sensors, which are indispensable for navigating tight urban parking. The robust All-Wheel Drive system acts as a primary safety feature, providing stability during occasional heavy rain and on gravel-laden suburban roads.

The bottom line

For the buyer who prefers the reliability of a large V6 over newer, smaller turbocharged engines, this GCC-spec QX50 is a high-spec, well-maintained choice that balances luxury with mechanical simplicity.
