Summary

This GCC-spec Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited offers a balanced ownership proposition with mileage that aligns perfectly with the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual GCC average. Finished in White, the most resilient resale color in the region, it stays noticeably cooler during the peak summer months. The Limited trim strikes the ideal middle ground for Dubai and Riyadh drivers, providing premium cabin materials and essential tech without the higher maintenance complexity of the V8 models. While competitors offer standard road performance, the Grand Cherokee stands out for its genuine weekend-ready off-road hardware. This is a reliable, high-spec choice for families who need a daily commuter that can handle long highway drives between emirates with ease.

This Car vs Other 2018 Grand Cherokees

At 126,583 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 21,000 km per year, which is considered low-to-average for a region where long highway commutes are standard. Most 2018 models in the UAE market have already surpassed 150,000 km. The white exterior is a major benefit for local resale, as it remains the most sought-after color for maintaining value in the GCC.

Limited vs Lower Trims

The Limited trim is a significant upgrade over the base Laredo, adding essential luxury features for the GCC climate including heated leather seats for winter mornings and a power liftgate for convenience at the mall. It also introduces the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen and a premium audio system, features that are highly valued by used car buyers in the local market.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Prado and Ford Explorer, the Grand Cherokee offers a more premium, car-like interior refinement while retaining superior off-road hardware like the Selec-Terrain system. Its 87-litre fuel tank provides a greater touring range than many crossovers, making it better suited for cross-border drives or long stretches of highway between major cities.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is known for its durability and widely available parts across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 10.4L/100km on the highway, though GCC city traffic will see this rise. Jeep maintains a strong authorized service network via dealers like Al Futtaim, ensuring consistent maintenance and steady depreciation rates compared to less common American brands.

Performance & Capability

With 292 horsepower and an 8-speed automatic transmission, this SUV delivers smooth overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. The Quadra-Trac II 4WD system and Selec-Terrain modes (Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rock) ensure it is as capable in the desert as it is on the tarmac. A verified 0–100 km/h time of approximately 9.0 seconds provides sufficient performance for a vehicle of this size.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance family comfort, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control that is well-regarded for handling extreme heat. This 5-seater configuration maximizes legroom and offers a massive 782-litre boot, accommodating far more luggage than 7-seater rivals with the third row up. High-quality insulation ensures the interior remains quiet and shielded from road noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

Standard safety features on this Limited trim include Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are vital for safety on multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. It also features ParkSense front and rear sensors and a ParkView rear backup camera, providing full visibility in tight urban parking scenarios.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer seeking a premium American SUV with verified local specs and the region's best resale color, this Limited trim offers the perfect balance of luxury and long-term reliability.
