Summary

This GCC-spec Lexus IS300 Premier is a standout choice for those seeking Japanese reliability without sacrificing executive presence. The silver exterior is a top performer for heat reflection and resale stability in the UAE market, while the 121,000 km mileage is consistent with average highway use across the region. As the Premier trim, it balances fuel efficiency from its 2.0L turbocharged engine with the high-end cabin finishes expected of a Lexus. Unlike American-spec imports, this model is fully optimized for Gulf heat and retains its full value within the local service ecosystem. It remains one of the most reliable and sought-after luxury sedans for daily commuting in the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2018 IS300s

At 121,000 km, this vehicle sits comfortably within the expected range for a 2018 model in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 25,000 km due to inter-emirate highway travel. The silver finish is one of the most strategic choices for the region, offering a significant advantage in maintaining a clean appearance against dust and ensuring stronger resale demand compared to niche colors.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim serves as the executive entry point, featuring essential luxury upgrades over the base specifications found in other markets. It includes 10-way power-adjustable front seats, a 10-speaker premium audio system, and the Lexus Safety System+ as standard. These features, combined with the NuLuxe interior trim, provide a level of refinement that holds up better under the intense local sun than standard fabric interiors.

IS300 vs Segment Rivals

The IS300 competes directly with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. While European rivals focus on high-frequency tech updates, the Lexus leads in long-term ownership security and air conditioning performance, which is vital for the 45°C+ UAE summers. Its rear-wheel-drive architecture maintains a sporty driving feel that matches its German competitors while offering a significantly more extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers a balanced fuel consumption of approximately 9.5L/100km combined, making it efficient for stop-start Dubai traffic and long cruises to Abu Dhabi. Lexus models in the GCC consistently show the lowest depreciation rates in the luxury segment, typically retaining about 70% of their value after three years. Authorized service centers are widely available through Al-Futtaim in the UAE and Ebrahim K. Kanoo in Bahrain, ensuring parts are always accessible.

Performance & Capability

The IS300 produces 241 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, allowing for confident highway overtaking and a 0–100 km/h time of 7.0 seconds. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, providing a relaxed experience during the long desert highway drives common in the region. With a 66-litre fuel tank, the vehicle offers substantial range, reducing the frequency of stops during cross-border travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five passengers with a focus on driver ergonomics and thermal comfort. Dual-zone climate control is standard, engineered specifically to pull down cabin temperatures rapidly after the car has been parked in the sun. The 480-litre boot space is generous for the compact luxury class, easily accommodating golf sets or airport luggage for a weekend getaway.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Lexus Safety System+, which includes Pre-Collision Warning, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Intelligent High Beams. These systems are particularly effective on the high-speed multi-lane roads of the GCC, helping to mitigate risks during long-distance travel. The vehicle also features a comprehensive 8-airbag system and Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) to maintain stability on diverse road surfaces from city asphalt to sandy coastal roads.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec IS300 Premier is the ideal opportunity for a professional seeking a reliable, high-status commuter that will hold its value better than any European rival in the local market.
