Summary

This 2018 Lexus LX 570 in Platinum Signature trim represents one of the most resilient luxury investments in the GCC market. With a naturally aspirated 5.7L V8, it offers mechanical longevity that rivals like the Range Rover or Mercedes GLS struggle to match over high-mileage ownership. The Grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice that supports strong resale value across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. For the local buyer, the combination of a massive 138-litre fuel tank and legendary reliability makes this the ultimate choice for cross-border GCC road trips and desert weekend excursions. The Platinum Signature trim adds the highest level of aesthetic and technical equipment, ensuring it remains a prestigious flagship even as newer generations enter the market.

This Car vs Other 2018 LX 570s

With 160,000 km, this LX 570 sits at a typical average for a six-year-old flagship SUV in the GCC, where 25,000 km per year is standard due to long-distance highway commuting. Unlike many regional rivals, the Lexus V8 is engineered for a 25-year service life, making this mileage a mid-point in its mechanical journey. The Grey exterior is one of the most stable colors for resale in the local market, trailing only white in terms of liquidity.

PLATINUM SIGNATURE vs Lower Trims

The Platinum Signature is the range-topping specification for the GCC, distinguishing itself with unique diamond-stitch semi-aniline leather and a signature spindle grille design. While the base Prestige trim lacks the full suite of luxury tech, this trim includes the 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference audio system and the dual 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment screens as standard. It also features the complete Lexus Safety System+ and ventilated seats for both the front and second-row passengers.

LX 570 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Range Rover Vogue and Cadillac Escalade, the LX 570 leads in long-distance range thanks to its 138-litre dual-tank system, a critical feature for driving between Emirates. Its body-on-frame construction provides a level of durability in sand and gravel that monocoque rivals cannot match. While European competitors focus on road agility, the Lexus offers superior cabin cooling performance and parts availability across every authorized service center in the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

The LX 570 is famous for having the lowest depreciation rate in the luxury SUV segment, typically retaining significantly more value than European equivalents after five years. Real-world fuel consumption averages 15.7L/100km combined, with city driving in stop-start traffic reaching 20L/100km. Service intervals are set at every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized network in the region (Al Futtaim, Abdullah Hashim, etc.), maintenance is straightforward and parts are readily available.

Performance & Capability

The 5.7L V8 produces 381 horsepower and a robust 530 Nm of torque, enabling a maximum braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg. On the highway, the 8-speed automatic transmission provides a smooth, quiet cruise, while the Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control systems offer genuine off-road prowess for desert dunes. The adaptive variable suspension allows the driver to toggle between Comfort and Sport modes, adjusting the ride height and damping to suit the terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat cabin is specifically designed for the GCC climate, featuring a high-output 4-zone Climate Concierge system and a cooled center console box for beverages. The Platinum Signature trim provides power-folding 50/50 split third-row seats, making the transition from family hauler to cargo carrier effortless. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation ensure the interior remains a quiet sanctuary from heat and road noise during long summer drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the Platinum Signature includes 10 airbags and the Lexus Safety System+, which features All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert. The 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor and Blind Spot Monitor are essential for navigating large SUVs in city traffic and tight parking. A Pre-Collision System with pedestrian detection provides an extra layer of security for family-focused owners.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who prioritizes bulletproof reliability and prestige, this Platinum Signature LX 570 is a secure purchase that will hold its value better than almost any other vehicle on the road.
