Mercedes Benz AMG GT C

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds
• Hand-built engine
• Top speed of 316 km/h

Summary

This 2018 AMG GT C represents a distinct sweet spot in the lineup, offering significantly more performance and wider rear proportions than the standard Roadster. With 48,000 km on the odometer, this example has been driven approximately 8,000 km per year, which is exceptionally low for the GCC where highway commutes often double that figure. The striking Yellow finish is a signature AMG performance color that holds strong appeal among enthusiasts in the UAE market, ensuring better visibility and desirability at resale. Unlike base models, the GT C inherits the active rear-axle steering and electronic limited-slip differential from the range-topping GT R, making it a true driver's tool for the Emirates' high-quality roads. For a GCC buyer, this is the ideal transition between a daily-usable grand tourer and a track-ready supercar.

This Car vs Other 2018 AMG GTs

With just 48,000 km, this vehicle sits well below the average 2018 model in the UAE, which typically sees 100,000 km or more. This low usage means the interior leather and mechanical components haven't faced the usual wear of heavy daily commuting. The bold Yellow paintwork is a high-value collector color that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, providing a significant edge in future resale value.

C vs Lower Trims

The 'C' trim is a major step up from the base GT and GT S, adding the wider rear fenders and active rear-axle steering for superior high-speed cornering. It also comes standard with the AMG Performance Exhaust system and the 'Race' drive mode, features that are often costly options on lower trims. Inside, you benefit from the standard inclusion of the Burmester surround sound system and Nappa leather upholstery.

AMG GT vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the AMG GT C offers a more visceral, front-mid-engine V8 experience with a much larger 75-litre fuel tank, ideal for long-distance drives across the GCC. While the Audi R8 provides all-wheel drive, the Mercedes offers a more traditional rear-wheel-drive balanced chassis and significantly more trunk space for weekend trips to Fujairah or Salalah.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 13.8 L/100km combined, though city driving in heavy Dubai traffic may see this rise. Mercedes-Benz has an extensive authorized service network through Gargash and Emirates Motor Company, ensuring parts and specialized technicians are always accessible. As a high-performance GCC-spec model, it retains value better than imported regional versions, typically depreciating at 12-15% annually.

Performance & Capability

The hand-built 4.0L Biturbo V8 delivers 510 hp and a massive 700 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless highway overtaking at any speed. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is tuned for rapid shifts, while the active rear steering makes the car feel remarkably agile in tight city maneuvers. With a top speed of 316 km/h, it is perfectly suited for the open stretches of the E11 or dedicated track sessions at the Dubai Autodrome.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cockpit is focused on the driver, featuring ventilated AMG Performance seats that are essential for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer. Dual-zone climate control is engineered to remain effective even with the top down in milder months, and the cabin is exceptionally well-insulated against road noise. Technology highlights include the COMAND infotainment system and high-resolution digital displays that remain legible in bright sunlight.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist, and a sophisticated stability control system with multiple stages to handle sandy or slick road surfaces. The integrated roll-over protection system and high-strength aluminum spaceframe provide peace of mind in the Roadster configuration. Blind Spot Assist is particularly helpful on multi-lane GCC highways, providing an extra layer of awareness during fast-moving traffic.

The bottom line

This AMG GT C is a rare find for a buyer who wants supercar performance in a low-mileage, GCC-spec package that won't punish them on the daily commute.
