Summary

This GCC-spec Mercedes-Benz S560 represents a refined entry into the flagship luxury segment, featuring the highly desirable 4.0L biturbo V8 engine that perfectly balances executive smoothness with serious power. While the mileage reflects consistent use over its 8 years, it remains a mechanically sound choice for the region given its local specification and full-sized sedan durability. Finished in Grey, a color that holds its value well in the UAE and wider GCC market, this S-Class stands out for its all-wheel-drive stability and advanced cabin technology. For a buyer looking for the presence and comfort of an S-Class without the steep depreciation of a newer model, this listing provides a high-specification opportunity. The regional spec ensures the cooling and filtration systems are specifically engineered to handle the intense local heat.

This Car vs Other 2018 S560s

With 165,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 20,600 km annually, which aligns perfectly with the typical GCC average for highway-heavy executive commuting. The Grey exterior is a neutral, strong resale choice in the local market, offering better thermal management than black while appearing more formal than white. Its regional GCC specification is a major advantage, ensuring long-term parts availability and service compatibility that American or European imports often lack.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the S560 from the S450 replaces the V6 with a more prestigious biturbo V8, providing significantly more torque for effortless highway overtaking. This trim typically includes the Burmester Surround Sound system and the Energizing Comfort suite, features that are highly sought after by GCC buyers for long-distance emirate-to-emirate travel. It also gains standard all-wheel drive, offering superior grip and stability compared to the rear-wheel-drive configurations found on entry-level models.

S560 vs Segment Rivals

The S560 leads the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 in cabin refinement and residual value within the GCC market. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides a substantial cruising range, making it ideal for cross-border trips where fuel stops can be infrequent. The Mercedes Air-Balance cabin fragrancing and ionization systems are particularly effective at maintaining cabin air quality in dusty GCC environments.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 9.3 L/100km on the highway, though GCC city traffic will see this rise toward 12-14 L/100km. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the strongest authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring reliable maintenance is always accessible. While luxury sedans face higher depreciation than Japanese SUVs, the S560 remains the gold standard for value retention in the executive class, typically losing 12-15% annually at this age.

Performance & Capability

The 469 hp V8 engine delivers a 0–100 km/h time of just 4.6 seconds, ensuring this 8-year-old sedan can still outperform many modern sports cars. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and Airmatic suspension provide a 'magic carpet' ride quality that is specifically tuned to smooth out highway undulations at high speeds. Multiple drive modes allow you to sharpen the throttle response for city driving or soften the dampers for ultimate comfort during long desert stretches.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC summer, featuring a dual-zone climate control system designed to reach optimal temperatures rapidly even after being parked in direct sun. Ventilated and heated power seats are standard, ensuring comfort regardless of the season. The Widescreen Cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays provides a modern, high-tech interface that remains intuitive and visually impressive years after its debut.

Safety

Standard safety features include Mercedes-Benz Pre-Safe, active brake assist, and attention assist, providing a comprehensive protective shield for all five occupants. The suite is particularly effective on high-speed UAE highways, where the blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping systems help navigate fast-moving traffic. The vehicle’s robust construction and multiple airbags ensure it meets the highest global safety standards for executive sedans.

The bottom line

This S560 is the ideal choice for an executive or family looking for peak German luxury and V8 performance with the peace of mind that comes from a genuine GCC-spec vehicle.
