Summary

This 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero GLS Midline offers a perfect balance of utility and reliability for GCC drivers. With white paint providing high solar reflection and maintaining excellent resale value, it is ideal for the local climate. Its 3.0L V6 engine is widely recognized for its long-term durability and ease of maintenance across the UAE. This specific listing represents a well-preserved example of a legendary body-on-frame SUV that bridges the gap between a daily school-run vehicle and a weekend desert explorer. For the local buyer, the extensive service network and parts availability make this one of the most practical ownership propositions in the region.

This Car vs Other 2018 Pajeros

With 139,703 km, this Pajero sits at a typical average for a GCC-spec vehicle of this age, where highway commutes often lead to higher annual mileage than global standards. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the UAE used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat management during summer months. Mechanical longevity is a hallmark of this generation, making it a lower-risk choice compared to high-tech rivals.

GLS MIDLINE vs Lower Trims

The Midline trim adds essential GCC comforts over the base GLX, including a rearview camera for easier parking in tight city spots and upgraded 17-inch alloy wheels. You also benefit from a superior climate control system with dedicated rear vents, ensuring all seven passengers remain cool during extreme temperatures. The interior is enhanced with chrome accents and better materials that elevate the cabin experience above the entry-level workhorse variants.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

The Pajero leads its class with the Super Select II 4WD system, allowing you to shift between 2WD and 4WD at speeds up to 100 km/h, a feature not found in the Toyota Fortuner or Chevrolet Captiva. Its 88-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for long desert drives or trips across the border. Unlike many modern crossovers, its body-on-frame construction offers genuine off-road durability that rivals like the Nissan Pathfinder have moved away from.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 12.2 L/100km, which is efficient for a V6 in this segment. Mitsubishi boasts one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks in the GCC, with facilities in every major city from Dubai to Muscat. The Pajero is a value champion, typically depreciating at a slow 8-10% annually, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the UAE.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 235 mm ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, this SUV is built for more than just paved roads. The 3.0L V6 provides reliable torque for overtaking on the E11 and sufficient power for light dune bashing. The low-range transfer case and locking center differential ensure you have the hardware necessary to tackle sandy terrain with confidence during weekend camping trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, with a third row that folds completely flat to reveal a massive cargo area. Dual-zone automatic climate control is specifically engineered for the Middle East, delivering powerful cooling even when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C. High-quality cabin insulation keeps road noise to a minimum, ensuring a quiet environment for family road trips between emirates.

Safety

Safety is prioritized with six airbags, Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. These systems are particularly vital on fast GCC highways and varying surface conditions like sand or gravel. The reinforced monocoque body with a built-in ladder frame provides a rigid safety cell, offering peace of mind for family transport.

The bottom line

This Pajero is the definitive choice for a family needing a dependable, GCC-ready 4x4 that holds its value as well as it holds the road. It is a rare opportunity to own a mid-trim legend that is equally comfortable in city traffic and desert dunes.
